Elmer Hart dies at 89
Elmer E. Hart, 89, Route 1, died Saturday at his home.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Quiring-Old Mission Cemetery in Wichita. Rev. Robert Brooks, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Augusta, will officiate. There will be a memorial service at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Augusta.
A memorial has been established with the Methodist church here.
He was born Oct. 10, 1895 in rural Augusta to Henry and Gertrude Hart.
Hart married Hazel McGlade in 1917. She survives.
He was a retired farmer.
Other survivors include a son, Orville C. Hart of Augusta; a daughter, Helen Corbin of Towanda; brothers, Herman of Wichita and Fred of Andover; a sister, Nettie Cook of Wichita; grandchildren, Candy Duncan of Portsmith, Va., Carles Hart of Augusta, Cheryl Hart of Terra Haute, Ind., Mac Corbin of Towanda, and Marcia Bevins of Jacksonville, Fla., and four great-grandchildren.

Rites pending
Funeral services are pending at the Dunsford Funeral Home for Grace Engelbrecht of 1145 Henry. She died at her home this morning.

Former Leon resident dies
Phillip K. Erwin, 76, Long Beach, Calif., formerly of Leon, died Wednesday.
His funeral was at 2 p.m. today at the Rose Hill Mortuary in Whittier, Calif.
Survivors include a son, Jay of Shady Grove, Ore.; daughters, Shirley Payne, Jeannie Lang, both of Las Vegas, Nev., Kay Baxley of Lakewood, Calif.; sisters, RoJean Holem, Mercedes Hulse, both of El Dorado; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Edna F. Renfro dies at Douglass
Edna Frances Renfro, 82, Douglass, mother of Charles Renfro of Augusta, died Friday, Dec. 28.
A funeral service for this homemaker was held at 10 o’clock this morning at the Douglass Church of Christ. Burial was in the Douglass cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Ray G. Renfro of Douglass, three other sons, Irvin Renfro of Bend, Ore., John Renfro of Hesston, Arthur Renfro of Casper, Wyo.; a daughter, Alberta Evans of Rose Hill; a brother, Robert Bidwell of Arlington, Va.; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Memorials to the Maude Carpenter Childrens’ Home have been suggested.

Seth Rutherford buried Sunday
Seth Huston Rutherford, 85, Douglass, died Thursday, Dec. 27.
A funeral service for this retired Cessna Aircraft employee and former postal worker was conducted Sunday afternoon at the Douglass United Methodist Church. Burial was in the Douglass cemetery.
In addition to his wife, Frances Faye, Rutherford leaves a son, Seth H. Rutherford Jr. of Wichita; a daughter, LeElla Mae Easter of Concordia; a sister, Anna Margaret Kocher of Enid, Okla.; two half-sisters, Ardis Sowards of
Wichita and Janice Nelson of Omaha, Neb.; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorials to the Douglass United Methodist Church have been suggested.

Mother dies in Wichita
L. Ruby Kufahl, 72, Emporia, mother of Lloyd Kufahl of Augusta, died Thursday, Dec. 27, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Her funeral service was at 10:30 a.m. today at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home in Emporia. Rev. Larry Seybold officiated and burial was in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery there.
A memorial has been established with the Grace United Methodist Church Elevator Fund.
She was born Nov. 24, 1912 in LaMont to Charles and Emma Storrer Frankhauser.
She married Lawrence C. Kufahl Oct. 19, 1936 in Madison. He preceded her in death.
Other survivors include daughters, Mary Wellman of Colbran, Colo., S. Kay Waters of Norco, Calif.; brother, George Frankhauser of Independence; sister, Cora Neuenschwander of Wichita; nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Helen Feller dies at 86
Helen Feller, 86, Leon, died Sunday at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Leon Christian Church. Rev. Tony Venturella will officiate and burial will be in Walnut Valley Memorial Park in El Dorado.
A memorial has been established with the Leon Christian Church.

L.G. Showalter dies at 68
Lebern G. Showalter, 68, Ponca City, Okla., brother of Worth Showalter of Augusta, died Wednesday.
Graveside services were at 2 p.m. today at the Friends Church Cemetery in Rose Hill.
A memorial has been established with the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation in Oklahoma City, Okla.
He was a former Rose Hill resident and owner and operator of the Showalter Answering Service Co.
