Brother-In-Law Dies In Wichita
Andrew Hurley, 85, Wichita, brother-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. George F. Graver and Virginia L. Cody, all of Augusta, died Sunday at St. Joseph Medical Center.
His service will be a 4 p.m. today at the Lakeview Mortuary in Wichita. Rev. Lowell C. Bryant of Mount Olive Christian Church will officiate.
He and his wife, Pearl, moved to Wichita from Keifer, Okla., where he retired from Gulf Oil Co., after 40 years of service. They celebrated their 62nd anniversary in August.
Survivors also include his wife, Pearl Hurley; a daughter, Helen Nagel of Wichita; sisters, Elia Johnson of Leslie, Ark., Nellie Johnson of Branson, Mo., and two grandchildren, Joel Nagel of Kansas City and Kimberly Fisher of Wichita, and three great-granddaughters.
A memorial has been established with the Mount Olive Christian Church in Wichita.

Brother Dies In St. Louis
Mark T. Cooley, 89, Wichita, brother of Ralph Cooley of Augusta, died Friday in St. Louis, Mo.
Graveside services were at 3:30 p.m. today at the Andover Cemetery.
He was a cement finisher. Other survivors include a son, Dale Cooley of Dayton, Ohio; a daughter, Charlotte Lockhart of St. Louis, Mo., and eight grandchildren.

Father Dies At Hospital
Dee A. Doughty, 75, Lyons, father of Mrs. Shirley Heinrich of Augusta, died yesterday at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.
A funeral service for Doughty will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the First Christian Church in Lyons and burial will be in a cemetery there.
The retired Highway Patrolman and former sheriff of Rice County had been ill for some time. A memorial to the American Heart Association has been suggested.
He was born Aug. 17, 1906 at Moran, Kan.
On Feb. 29, 1928, he and the former Louise Arvilla Manning were married. She preceded him in death in October of 1970.
Doughty served with the Third Fleet of the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Ocean during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion.
He joined the Kansas Highway Patrol before the war and returned to a job with the state patrol after the war. He worked as a trooper in El
Dorado and Great Bend before finishing his career at Lyons, county seat of Rice County. He was sheriff there for 10 years following his career as a trooper.
In addition to Mrs. Heinrich, Doughty leaves another daughter, Mrs. Donna Bausch of Mansfield, La., two brothers, two sisters and 11 grandchildren including two grand-daughters-in-law by marriage.

Ex-Augustan Dies At 86
Jessie C. Rubel, 86, Denver, Colo., formerly of Augusta, died Tuesday at Edgewater, Colo.
Her service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Rev. Burl Allison Jr. will officiate and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
She was born Nov. 26, 1895 in Augusta to William and Elizabeth Robbins Wilson.
She married Walter Rubel Jan. 12, 1920 in Ft. Worth, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1981.
She was a retired apartment manager. She was also a 50-year member of the Rebekah Lodge and the Royal Neighbors.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
