Marie Stover dies at AMCI
Marie Avorace Stover, 87, Wichita, a resident of the Augusta Medical Complex Long Term Care facility, died Sunday.
Private graveside services were at 1:30 a.m. today at the Riverview Cemetery in Arkansas City.
She was born Feb. 14, 1898 in McGehee, Ark.
She married George Stover. He preceded her in death in 1952.
She was a retired seamstress.
A granddaughter, Janet Mallot of Wichita, and three great-grandchildren, survive.
A son, Jacque O. Stover, also preceded her in death.
Father dies in Wichita
Horace R. “Hoss” Gracy, 64, Wichita, father of Linda Roll of Leon, died Saturday at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
His funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Glenville Bible Baptist Church. Rev. Gary Gray will officiate and burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens there.
A memorial has been established with the Glenville Bible Baptist Church bus fund.
He was born Feb. 11, 1921 in Marietta, Okla., to William Franklin and Susie Virginia Duckworth Gracy.
He was a retired bricklayer contractor.
Other survivors include sons, Maj. Billy Gracy of McDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Fla., Richard, Robert, Dean; stepsons, Gary Martin, Don Martin, all of Wichita; another daughter, Janice Lasswell of Wichita; brothers, Billy Sheffield of Boyd, Texas, Donald Sheffield of Springtown, Texas; sisters, Marie Leath of Fort Worth, Texas, Berniece Cook of Wichita Falls, Texas; 22 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Doshia Smith dies at 81
Doshia H. Smith, 81, St. John, mother of Sue Caster of Douglass, died Sunday at the Pratt, Kan., Regional Medical Center.
Her funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Plevna, Kan., Community Church. Rev. Greg Waggoner and Rev. Larry Hoffmann will officiate and burial will be in the Plevna, Kan., Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association.
She was born Jan. 23, 1904 in Alexandria, La., to Charlie and Rena Howard Bryan.
She married Ezra Smith on June 10, 1926 in Lochlomand, La. He preceded her in death in 1970.
Survivors also include a son, Ezra Jr., of Maize; daughters, Lillian Davis, Laura Davis, both of Garden City, Irene Hacker, Jane Hathaway, Charlene Morgan, all of St. John, Jean Hathaway of Colorado Springs; a brother, Sam Bryan; sister, Ouida Bryan, both of Rocky Branch, La.; 23 grandchidren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Minnis Mortuary in St. John is in charge of arrangements.

Eleanor Bristow dies at home
Eleanor Bristow, 61, 526 Osage Street, died at her home Monday.
The wake service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. James Catholic Church. Father David Cushing and Rev. Robert Brooks will officiate and burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.
She was born April 11, 1923 in Philadelphia, Pa., to Joseph and Mary Hollahan Alsop.
She married Austin Bristow Aug. 6, 1942 in Virginia. He survives.
She lived in Miami Springs, Fla., before coming to this area in 1977. She was a member of the St. James Catholic Church.
Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Judy Dunnam and Dolores Kuker, both of Augusta; six grandchildren; a niece and two nephews.
Former Douglass resident dies
Boyd E. Suites, 54, San Antonio, Texas, formerly of Douglass, died Feb. 25.
His funeral service was Monday. A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society.
He was a retired Air Force sergeant.
Survivors include a son, Boyd Jr., daughter, Susan Suits, whose addresses were unavailable; brothers, William of Shawnee Mission, Robert of Port Angeles, Wash.; sisters, Barbara Martin of Ponca City, Okla., and Bonnie Lesemann of Newkirk, Okla.
Miller-Stahl Funeral Home in Newkirk, Okla., was in charge of arrangements.
Arkansas funeral
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Shryock, Mike Shryock, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Cauthron, all of Augusta, attended the Monday funeral of William Walker, 88, at Booneville, Ark. Walker is a brother-in-law of Mrs. Shryock, Mrs. Cauthron and Mrs. Opal Gould of Augusta. His wife, Elizabeth, is among the survivors.
