Bessie M. King dies at 77
Bessie M. Milligan King, 77, Wichita, mother of Gerald K. Milligan of Augusta, died Saturday at a nursing home in Wichita.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at the Quiring Old Mission Mortuary in Wichita. Rev. Dean McCormick will officiate and burial will be in the White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
Memorials have been established with the American Red Cross and the American Cancer Society.
She was born Feb. 6, 1908 in Lincoln Center to Oliver and Ara Alva Fancher Danner.
She married William Porter Milligan and he died in 1966.
She married Ernest King. He survives.
She was a retired Sedgwick County Health Department senior clerk.
Survivors also include another son, Richard P. Milligan of Wichita; a daughter, Carolyn Wolfe of Wichita; brothers, Kenneth Danner of Toronto, Lester Danner of Petaluma, Calif.; sister, Clarabelle Gabbert of Petaluma; 11 grandchildren, and 12 great-granchildren.

Former resident dies in Texas
A graveside service was held Aug. 9 for Dollie Hurst, 90, Odessa, Texas, formerly of Augusta. Burial was in Odessa.
Mrs. Hurst was born Dec. 14, 1894 in Ashland, Kan.
She was married to Floyd Hurst. He preceded her in death in 1974.
Mr. and Mrs. Hurst lived here for 53 years and loved Kansas very much, according to the family. They were members of the Baptist church. He was a rural mail carrier in the Augusta area.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol Mick of Odessa, Texas, and Helen Hillshafer of Oklahoma City, Okla.; a sister, Anna Gafford of Salina, four grandsons and four great-grandchildren.

Lora M. Blaser funeral Friday
Lora Mae Blaser, 62, Wichita, died Wednesday at St. Francis Regional Medical Center. She was the sister of Faye Teegarden of Augusta.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Asbury United Methodist Church in Wichita. Burial will be in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
Blaser was born July 19, 1923, in Eureka to Thomas and Almeda Stine Park.
She married Norman T. Blaser on Dec. 23, 1945 in Pittsburg. He survives.
Mrs. Blaser was retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone.
She was a member of the Wichita Soroptimist Club, Business and Professional Women’s organization, past president of the Telephone Pioneers and a member of the Parsons chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.
In addition to her husband and sister, survivors include a daughter, Mary A. Bornowski of Wichita and two grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to Asbury United Methodist Church, 2801 W. 15th St., Wichita, Kan., 67203.
The Cochran Mortuary of Wichita is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. ‘Bill’ Glass died Aug. 6
Nina Glass, wife of former Mobil Oil refinery manager John W. “Bill” Glass, died Aug. 6.
Glass was manager of the local refinery during the war years and was reportedly very well liked by all the workers. He lived on Clark Street before moving away from Augusta.
Mr. Glass is now living at 1501 Anza Ave./Sp. 19, Vista, Calif., 92083.

Waunita M. Nickle dies in Wichita
Waunita Marie Nickle, 60, Arkansas City, sister of Carman Orlowski of Augusta, died Tuesday at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Rindt-Erdman-Oldroyd Funeral Home in Arkansas City. Bishop Robert Boehner will officiate and burial will be in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery, north of Arkansas City.
A memorial has been established with the American Diabetes Association.
She was born July 2, 1925 in Arkansas City to John Henry and Julia Van Winkle Boehner.
She married Rueben Earl Nickle in Miami, Okla., June 8, 1957. He preceded her in death Feb. 7, 1975.
She worked 12 years at Cessna Aircraft Co. as a sheet metal assembler before she retired.
Other survivors include a son, Earl Wayne of Sherman, Texas; daughters, Mary Blosser of Haysville, Patricia Hays of Wichita, Kathryn Welch of Arkansas City, Ricky Martin of Longview, Texas, Joy June of Sherman; a stepdaughter, Hazel McGuire of Winfield; brothers, Norman Boehner of Los Angeles, Calif., Lawrence Boehner of Orem, Utah; another sister, Emma Belle Bottomly of Arkansas City; 10 grandchildren and a great grandchild.
