Lawrence E. Alvord died yesterday
Lawrence E. “Larry” Alvord, 64, Arkansas City, retired construction worker, father of Michael E. and Lawrence E. Jr., both of Augusta, died yesterday.
His service will be 11 a.m. tomorrow at Janesville Cemetery in Hamilton and Rev. Gary Roellchen will officiate. Campbell Funeral Home in Eureka has the arrangements.
Alvord was born March 5, 1923 to Richard E. Alvord and Jesse J. McClintick in Hamilton.
In addition to his two sons here, survivors include: son, Loren R. of Arkansas City, Ronald of El Dorado; daughters, Leta Zeller, Kay Alvord, step-daughters, Ann Brammer, Rena Brammer, all of Arkansas City; sisters, Anna Mae Cookson of Hamilton, Neva Williams of Parsons; eight grandhcildren.

Velma F. Elliott died today in Texas
Velma Florene Elliott, 79, Corpus Christi, Texas, sister-in-law of Thelma Bowyer and daughter-in-law of Ina Elliott, both of Augusta, died today.
Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Dunsford Funeral Home, 201 East Fifth and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Elliott was born Aug. 5, 1907 to Walter Bowyer and Tina Mae Selvage in Bloomington.
On May 30, 1927, she and Estill D. Elliott were married in Bloomington. He preceded her in death April 8, 1987.
She was a homemaker.
In addition to her sister-in-law and daughter-in-law, here, survivors include: sons, Daniel W. of Dallas and James of Corpus Christie; daughter, Virginia Wicks of Phoenix; four grandchildren.

Cherie L. Barnes died Friday
Gary C. Barnes, 36, Boeing Military Airplane Co. chemical treatment attendant, and his wife, Cherie L. (Niblack) Barnes, 32, Boeing Military Airplane Co. modification mechanic, both of Leon, died Friday, July 17.
Their joint service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Smith Mortuary in Haysville. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Wichita.
Gary was born Aug. 26, 1950 to Lawrence and Ava Batson Barnes in Batesville, Ark.
Cherie was born Sept. 19, 1954 to R.A. and Cecelia Dameron Niblack in Wichita.
They were married in 1980 in
Haysville.
His survivors include: son, Glennon, address unavailable; father, Lawrence of Tulsa; mother, Ava Gray of Derby; brother, Larry of Wichita.
Her survivors include: son, Charles Campbell, at home; parents, R.A. and Cecelia Niblack of Wichita; brohters, Jesse Leon Kees, Roger Dale Kees, both of Wichita, Calvin Ray Niblack of Rose Hill; sisters, DeeAnn Mayes of Alexandria, Ky., Sheila McGee of Wichita, Glenna Brasher of Haysville, Ethel Jane McLain of Joelton, Tenn.; grandmother, Veronica Dameron of Vian, Okla.

Rev. R. Morrison funeral Wednesday
Rev. Robert R. Morrison, 83, Augusta, died Friday, July 17.
His services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Fist Assembly of God Church in Wichita. Burial will be 3:30 p.m. in Oakhill Cemetery in Galena and Rev. Derald Musgrove will officiate. DeVorss Mortuary in Wichita has the arrangements.
Morrison was born March 12, 1904 to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Morrison in Galena.
On July 3, 1934, he married
Vida in Pittsburg.
Survivors include: wife, Vida; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Helen M. Wohletz services tomorrow
Helen M. Wohletz, mother of Mildred Lister of Augusta, died Friday, July 15 in Madison Manor Nursing Home.
Her services will be 11 a.m. tomorrow at Wilson Funeral Home in Madison. Burial will be in #8 cemetery east of Madison.
Wohletz was born July 14, 1893 in Monmouth, Ill. to Edward and Harriett Kelly Perrine.
On Feb. 14, 1917, she and
Cecil V. Durant were married in Valley Falls, Kan. He preceded her in death on June 23, 1949.
On Feb. 4, 1952, she and Edward Wohletz were married in Effingham, Kan. He preceded her in death on April 10, 1979.
Wohletz was a homemaker and member of St. Benedict’s Church at Atchison.
In addition to her daughter, here, survivors include: Anieta Wasson of Odessa, Texas, Norma Harlan of Madison, Patricia Shaffer of Tulsa; stepsons, Hardy and Walter of Effingham; stepdaughter, Vertilla Zeltner of Everest, Kan.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, one sister and one grandson.
A memorial has been established with the Madison Manor Nursing Home.
