Barbara Engelbert service tomorrow
Barbara Jean Engelbert, 38, of rural Douglass, died Tuesday, Oct. 20, as a result of injuries received in a vehicle/train accident.
Her funeral service will be 2 p.m. tomorrow at Dunsford Chapel, 201 East Fifth, Augusta. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Engelbert was born Feb. 19, 1949 to Arthur and Cecile Bell Short Demieville, in Wichita.
Engelbert was a maintenance worker at Citadel Bank and a preschool volunteer.
Her survivors include: sons, Jesse Ray Sheffield Jr., Christopher Wayne Sheffield, Michael Eugene Sheffield, Robert Eugene Engelbert, all of Douglass; daughters, Sonya Kay Sheffield, Stephanie Marie Engelbert, both of Douglass; brothers, Clifford Eugene Demieville, Marvin
McMahon, both of Wichita, Hiram Arthur Demieville of Sonoma, Calif., sisters, Beverly Rea, Vickie Cotton, Joyce DeLaGarza, Dorothy Mazur, all of Wichita; one grandchild.

Former Augustan died yesterday
Thomas O. Parish, of Columbia, Mo., former Augusta resident, retired minister, died yesterday.
His funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church in Columbia, Mo. Parker Funeral Home has the arrangements.
Parish was born Sept. 11, 1907 in Van Zandt County, Texas.
On Sept. 29,1926, he and Edna Alice Bathurst were married.
Parish graduated from the Chaplain’s School of Harvard University and served as U.S. Army Chaplain overseas during
World War II. He was ordained by the Jackson Avenue Christian Church in Kansas City, Mo. and was senior pastor of Central Christian Church in Wichita from 1957 until retiring in 1973.
His survivors include: sons, Thomas O. Parish, Jr. of Jonesboro, Ark., Robert W. of Augusta, Tim A. of Corpus Christi, Texas; daughter, Sandra A. Remmert of Champain, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with Lendir Manner Reirement Center in Columbia, Mo.

Deva Morrison died yesterday
Deva Morrison, 83, of Derby, retired Wichita East High School teacher, sister of Nava Swaney of Augusta, died yesterday.
Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at Hyde Park United Methodist Church in Wichita. Burial will be in White Chapel Cemetery and Pastor Don Carper will officiate. DeVorss Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary has the arrangements.
Morrison was born Jan. 19, 1904 to John and Etta Van Dusen Brown in Eddie, Okla.
On May 30, 1926, she and Lee Morrison were married in Derby. He preceded her in death in 1984.
A memorial has been established with Hyde Park United Methodist Church.

Ethel Huddleston died today
Ethel Jeanette Huddleston, 73, of Augusta, died today at St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita.
Her funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday in Dunsford Chapel, 201 East Fifth, Augusta. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Huddleston was born May 22, 1914 to Leonard William nd Mary Ellen Williams Wilson in Arlington, S.D.
On Sept. 18, 1935, she and Lancy Huddleston were married in Arlington. He preceded her in death in 1980.
Huddleston moved into Butler County in 1943. She was a homemaker and waitress and a member of the Church of Christ.
Her survivors include: sons, Robert Dean Huddleston of Augusta, Donald Ray Huddleston of Fairfield, Calif.; daughters, Shirley Rae Bums of Augusta; sister, Nora Lane of Zurich, Kan. five grandchildren.

Memorial fund set for Engelbert
A memorial fund has been established for Barbara Engelbert, Douglass, who died Tuesday. Her services were today at Dunford Funeral Home. Donations to the fund can be made at either Citadel Bank, Augusta, or at the Prairie State Bank.
