Funeral Friday for Alma Murphy
Alma B. Murphy, 95, of Augusta, died Wednesday, June 15, at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.
Her service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Rev. Harold Kieler will officiate the service.
She was born Aug. 7, 1892, to Daniel E. and Estella Gertrude (Chesley) Hite in Augusta. On March 22, 1945, she married Asa Goad. He preceded her in death in 1955. She later married James Murphy, who preceded her in death in 1967.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Women’s Christian Temperance Union.
Murphy, a former secretary at Augusta High School, is survived by a stepson, Marvin Goad of Augusta.
A memorial has been established with the First United Methodist Church of Augusta.

Donald Sammons died in Wichita
Donald Sammons, 68, Route 4, El Dorado, died Thursday, June 16, at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Wichita. He was a retired United Cement Company truck driver.
His funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday, June 20, at Sunset Lawn Cemetery in El Dorado. Memorials have been suggested to Temple Baptist Church, El Dorado.
Survivors include his wife Norine; a son, George, El Dorado;, a daughter, Pam Haskins, El Dorado; a brother, Clinton, El Dorado; two sisters, Dorothy Peak of Augusta and Louise Brinegar of Towanda; and four grandchildren.

Augustan's sister died Friday
Daisy Cody, 83, of Hutchinson, sister of Ernest O. Jackson of Augusta, died Friday, June 17.
Cody’s service was held this afternoon at Lamb Funeral Home in Nickerson.
In addition to her brother, she is survived by two sons, Robert James of Liberal, Troy Gene of Perryton, Texas; daughter, Vivian Imogene Gregg of Lyons; sisters, Frances Winifred Gunter of West Plains, Mo., Tina Lucetta Moser of Halstead, Dorothy Louise Lau of Los Lunas, N.M.; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren. A memorial has been established with the First Christian Church of Nickerson.
Augustan's father dies at 70
Lawrence Stunkel, 70, of Clay Center, father of Vickie Geist of Augusta, died Friday, June 17.
A memorial service for Stunkel was 10 a.m. today at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Palmer.
Other survivors include his wife, Amanda of the home; son, Gene of Palmer; brother, Rayburn
of Clifton; sister, Lulu Wilgers of Palmer; five grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with St. Paul Lutheran Church in Palmer. Neill-Schwensen Funeral Home in Clay Center was in charge of arrangements.
Mauk service today at Elmwood
Dixie Orlene Mauk, 57, of Wichita, died Friday, June 17, at homestead Health Center in Wichita. She was the mother of Kris Mauk of Augusta.
Her service was held this morning at Elmwood Cemetery. Rev. Burl Allison Jr. officiated
the service.
She was born Feb. 26, 1931, to Orley Edward and Lena Mae (Hutchison) Bonham in Wellington.
Mauk, a retired Beech Aircraft employee, was a member of the First Christian Church of Augusta.
Other survivors include: son, Kent of Oklahoma City, Okla.; mother, Lena Mae Rice of Wichita.
