Corbin services will be Sunday
Jay Dee Corbin, 32, of Augusta, died Wednesday, Sept. 13, in Cleveland, Miss. He was the victim of a hit and run.
Services for the assistant manager of Corbin Fish Farm will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the Central Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Indinola Cemetery.
He was born Nov. 3, 1956 in Kansas City, Mo. to Sidney and Helen Corbin. On Oct. 15, 1976
he married Anna Mishler in Augusta.
Survivors include his wife, Anna, sons, Justin and Austin, daughter, Kayla, all of the home; sister, Ann Harvey of Towanda; and parents, Sidney and Helen Corbin.
Memorials are to the Corbin children.
Dunsford Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Maxine Wilson dies at age 93
Maxine Susan (Tabor) Wilson, 93, of Augusta, died Thursday, Sept. 14, at Augusta Medical Complex.
She was born in West Plains, Mo. on April 13, 1896. She was married to James Mitchell Tabor in West Plains, Mo. and following his death, she married George Edgar Wilson in Augusta.
Survivors include her son, Wayman Roger Tabor of Indianapolis, Ind.; daughter, Rhea
Tabor Franks of Tulsa, Okla.; one grandchild, Vicky Brooks of New York; and one great-grandchild, Stephanie Brooks of New York.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands and one son, Loyal Tabor.
Graveside services will be held Monday morning at 11 o’clock in Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Dunsford Funeral Home.

Augustan’s sister died on Sunday
Augustan Clyde Swafford’s sister, Bessie Minear, 85, of Winfield, died Sunday, Sept. 17.
Services for the homemaker will be held at 10:30 Wednesday morning in the Miles Memorial Chapel, Winfield.
Other survivors, besides her brother from here, include daughters, Doris Keith of Wichita, Ada Beltz of Winfield; sisters, Dorothy Smart of Clinton, Mo., Gladys Dixon of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A memorial has been established with the First Church of the Nazarene, Winfield.
Marion Sorrels
Marion Voelzke Sorrels, 63, Belleville, died Sunday, Sept. 17, at the Republican County Hospital.
The funeral service will be 3 o’clock Tuesday afternoon at the Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart Funeral Home of Belleville with burial in the Belleville Cemetery.
She was born Nov. 17, 1925 in Alamosa, Colo., as a daughter of Ruby and Ruby Lemon Lewis.
Survivors include a son, Michael Sorrels of Minneapolis, Kan.; a daughter, Melanie Tennyson of Augusta; two brothers, Ronald Lewis of Topeka, and Richard Lewis of Lincoln, Neb., and four grandchildren.
Mrs. Sorrels worked for several years in the Republican County register of deeds office. She was a member of the Belleville Business & Professional Women’s Club and the Republican County Historical Society.

Mary A. Medina died on Sunday
Mary A. (Stevenson) Medina, 65, of Augusta, died Sunday, Sept. 17.
Wednesday evening a rosary will be held at 7 o’clock. Services for the retired Dobbs House cook will be held at 10:30 Thursday morning, both in the De Vorss Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary, Wichita.
She was born June 21, 1924 in Richmond to Ray and Esther Stevenson.
Survivors include sons, James of Paola, George of Orlando, Fla., Richard of Goodland, Steve of Virginia Beach, Va.; daughter, Esther Fitzgerald of Towanda; brothers, Leslie Stevenson of Seattle, Delmar Stevenson of Wichita, Davis Stevenson of Las Vegas, Nev.; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A memorial has been established with the Towanda Public Library.
