Kenneth Muse dies today in Wichita
Kenneth Muse, 64, Potwin, died today at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Christian Church in Potwin.
He is the son-in-law of Hazel Kinnamon and the late Paul Kinnamon of Augusta.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce, of Potwin; children, Janice Whiteside and Ken Muse of Potwin, Linda Failer of Leon and Paul Muse of Wichita; sisters Marjorie Rollins of New Orleans, La., Marie Wilson of Lawrence, Nina Wilson of Madison, Shirley Rule of Topeka; four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.
The Lamb-Nutter Funeral Home in Whitewater is in charge of arrangements.

Madeline C. Haps died in Illinois
Madeline C. Haps, 92, of Collinsville, Ill., died Jan. 28 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville. She was the mother of Clyde Haps of Augusta.
Her funeral service was held at the George & Sons Funeral
Home in Belleville and burial was in the Walnut Hill Cemetery.
Other survivors include a daughter, Lucille Swanston of St. Louis, Mo.; a brother, John Guettermann of Belleville, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials to the Kidney Foundation were suggested.

Florence Harris funeral yesterday
Florence McCaffery Harris, 91, Cheney, died Feb. 10. She was the mother of Maxine Brooks, formerly of Augusta.
Her funeral service was conducted yesterday, Feb. 13, at the Cheney United Methodist Church and burial was in the Vinita Cemetery at Cheney.
In addition to Mrs. Brooks, she leaves three sons, Richard of Cheney, Kenton of Firendswood, Texas, and Leland of Las Vegas, Nev.; another daughter, Marjorie Harris of Houston, Texas; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorials to the Cheney United Methodist Church and/or the Friendly Acres Nursing Home at Newton are suggested.

Leah Ratzlaff dies Saturday in Arkansas
Leah Ratzlaff, 91, Bentonville, Ark., died Saturday, Feb. 17, in Bentonville, Ark.
Funeral services and burial will be Wednesday in Fairview, Okla.
Ratzlaff is a former Augusta resident.
Survivors include daughters, Louise Bower of Augusta, Norma Adler of La Junta, Colo., Wilma Thompson of Bentonville; sons Willis of Grove City, Pa. and Wesley of Tucson, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Valois Victor Dick dies Monday
Retired Rainbo Bread distributor Valois Victor Dick, 69, El Dorado, died Monday, Feb. 19.
Services are pending with the Kirby-Morris Funeral Home in El Dorado.
He had been a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in El Dorado. Dick was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; son Gary Dick of El Dorado; daughters Marilyn Tuttle of Augusta, Connie Brant of Wichita and Frances Janney of El Dorado and nine grandchildren.

Helen Scobbe services to be Saturday
Homemaker Helen Scobbe, 49, rural Augusta, died Monday, Feb. 19, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Kingdom Hall Jehovah’s Witnesses in rural Augusta. Following will be graveside services at Lakeview Cemetery in Wichita.
Scobbe was born July 15, 1940 to Eleanor Margarete Sharon and Leo G. Dennett.
On June 26, 1975, she married Robert Scobbe in Valley Center.
Surivivors include her husband; sons John of Augusta,
Loyd of Denver, Colo.; stepdaughter Sheryl Scobbe, Wichita; brothers Robert, Clarence and Marion Dennett, all of Augusta; and four step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three daughters, Joe Lee, Annette Lyn and Cathy Lu Anne Newman.
Dunsford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
