Forrest Faulconer died on July 31
Forrest M. Faulconer of Palos Verdes Estates in California died Tuesday, July 31, at his home after a long illness.
A memorial service was held Sunday evening, Aug. 5, at the Neighborhood Church in Palos Verdes.
Faulconer, a former operating superintendent at the Mobil Oil refinery here, had lived in Palos Verdes since 1966.
His distinguished career with Mobil also saw him work as manager of the Mobil Oil refinery at Torrance, Calif. At Torrance, he was in charge of staffing, employee training and start-up operations of the modernized refining facilities.
He was an active participant in the Palos Verdes community. He was a member of the Palos Verdes Golf Club for more than 20 years, the Palos Verdes Breakfast Club, a member of the Neighborhood Church and served on the church board of trustees. He was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity for more than 60 years.
In Augusta, he was a founder of the United Fund and served as its first president. He was an active member of Rotary Club International.
Mr. Faulconer was bom in Clay County on Jan. 4, 1910.
He graduated from Kansas State University in 1932 and married Helen Hughes Sept. 1, 1934. They have three children, Joan Faulconer Cobble of Ranch Palos Verdes, Dr. Forrest Hughes Faulconer of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Susan Faulconer Cobble of Tulsa, Okla. Six grandchildren and a sister, Ruth Russell of Cedar Falls, Iowa, also survive.
Memorials to the Neighborhood Church or charity of choice are suggested.

Raymond Boyles services today
Raymond Le Roy Boyles, 69, rural Augusta, died Friday, Aug. 3, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.
Services were today at the Christ Lutheran Church, the Rev. W.M. Childress officiating.
Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery in Wichita.
Boyles was bom Sept. 12, 1920, in New York City, N.Y., to Loretta Clarkson and Lee Roy
Boyles.
On Nov. 25,1960, he married Ardythe C. Colbom in Lincoln, Neb.
Survivors include his wife; brother, Albert of New York City; sister, Hazel O’Brien of New Jersey.
Boyles was a retired Boeing Aircraft worker. He belonged to Christ Lutheran Church.
A memorial has been established with Christ Lutheran Church.
Dunsford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Brother of Augustans dies Thursday
Russ Watson Jr., 17, Neodes-ha, brother of Augusta residents Diana, Lisa and Angela Waggoner, died Thursday, Aug. 2.
The funeral was today at the Bible Baptist Church, Neodesha.
Other survivors include mother and stepfather, Doloris and Charles Caldwell; stepbrother, Greg Caldwell of Lincoln, Neb.; grandparents, Darlene of Augusta, Mr. & Mrs. Ace Bennett of Neodesha.
He was a Neodesha High School student.

Clayton ‘Ed’ Warren dies in Louisiana
Clayton Edward “Ed” Warren. 81, Opelousas, La., died Aug. 2 at the Opelousas Doctor’s Hospital.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Elmwood Cemetery, the Rev. Burl Allison officiating.
Warren was bom Jan. 27, 1909, in Milwaukee, Wis. to Rose Yahn and Samuel Ritten-house Warren.
In 1936, he married Thelma Jones in Newkirk, Okla.
Survivors include his wife; sister, Helen Boudreu of Wood-bum, Ore.
He had been a production supervisor for Mobil Oil for 47 years.
Warren belonged to the Methodist Church, the Elks Club and the American Legion. He served in the military during World War II.
A memorial has been established with the United Methodist Church in Opelousas, La.
Dunsford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
