Jim Keith memorial service Thursday

Jim Keith, 66, Coffeyville, brother of Douglass resident Beverly Nell Pharr, died Monday, Oct. 1, in Coffeyville.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, at the First Baptist Church of Coffeyville.
Keith had been owner-operator of an auto service station.
He was born June 20,1924, in Coffeyville to Thelma E. (Miller) and J. Lloyd Keith Sr.
Keith graduated from high school in 1942 and served with the Army Air Corps.
On March 17, 1950, he married Mary E. Capps in Coffeyville.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, the American Legion,
Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans,
Amateur Radio Club, Keystone Lodge 102, all of Coffeyville.
He also belonged to Scottish Rite in Fort Scott and the Mirza Temple of Pittsburg.
Survivors include his wife, Mary E. of the home; daughters, Julie Ann Carr of Houston, Texas,
Linda Jane Malloy of Fayetteville, Ark., Joyce Lynn George of Coffeyville;
brothers, Kenny F. Keith of Harlingen, Texas, Phil J. Keith of Dallas, Texas; nine grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the Coffeyville Memorial Hospital Foundation.
DeVorss Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary, Wichita, is in charge of arrangements.

Theodore Coffman services Wednesday

Theodore Gibbs Coffman, 64, Emporia, father of Augusta resident Cary Miles, died Sunday, Sept. 30.
His funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia.
Also surviving is his wife, Ellen.
A memorial has been established with Lyons County Cancer Society.

Willard H. Obenchain dies Sept. 26

Retired US Plumbing Supply shipping clerk, Willard Harold Obenchain, 77, formerly of Wichita,
died Wednesday, Sept. 26. Surviving him are two Augusta residents, his daughter, Treva Shook,
and sister, Mildred Canfield.
Funeral services were Friday, Sept. 28, at Immanuel Baptist Church, Springfield, Mo.
Other survivors include wife, Hazel; daughter, Gerrie Babion of Estes Park, Colo.;
stepson, Bob Snodgrass of Springfield; eight grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren.
Ayre-Goodwin-Lee Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Geraldine L. Brewer dies Wednesday

Geraldine Louise Brewer, 61, Augusta, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, at St. Joseph Medical Center, Wichita.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall,
Stan Hanney offiating; and 4 p.m. at Wood Cemetery, Redfield.
She was born April 24, 1929, at Fort Scott to Opal Aileen (But-ler) and Charles Monroe Richard.
Survivors include sons, Larry Blythe of Augusta, Don Blythe of Kansas City, Kan.;
daughters, Barbara Taylor of Cedar Point, Jackie Gilmour of Augusta, Melody Bays of Wichita;
sisters, Doris Williams of Redfield, Joann Dalton of Fort Scott; 10 grandchildren.
Brewer was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Dunsford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Frank G. Johnson dies Sunday

Retired farmer Frank G. Johnson, 89, Douglass, died Sunday, Sept. 30.
His funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at the Douglass Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Iwilda; sons, Garland of Douglass, Clifford of Moreland, Okla.;
brother, James of Douglass; sisters, Ruth Dennett of El Dorado, Berneice McDonald of Apple Valley, Calif.;
five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the Douglass Christian Church.
Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home, Douglass, is in charge of arrangements.
