Josephine Mosier dies in Halstead
Retired Beech Aircraft worker Josephine “Jo” Mosier, 69, Newton, died Friday, Nov. 30,
at the Halstead Hospital in Newton. She was bom and raised in Leon.
Graveside services were Sunday at the Leon Cemetery, the Rev. Alden Dick officiating.
She was born Feb. 10,1921, to Eltie and Annabelle (Wagaman) Elliott.
On Aug. 14,1937, she married Lawrence A. Moser in Winfield. He preceded her in death on Oct. 6, 1973.
Survivors include a son, Ronald, of Wichita; three brothers, Kenneth Elliott of Leon, Raymond Elliott of Wichita,
Averill Elliott of Silvo, Mo.; a sister, Blanche Razey of Dexter; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.
Petersen’s Funeral Home, Newton, is in charge of arrangements.
A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home at
215 N. Main, Newton, Kan., 67114.

Janis Prewitt
Janis Marie (Elliott) Prewitt, 34, Leon, died as the result of injuries suffered an automobile accident Tuesday morning in Leon. Funeral arrangements were pending with Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado.
Survivors include her husband, Randy, Leon.

Lillie Ethyl Krouse died Dec. 1
A funeral service for Lillie Ethyl Krouse, 84, Augusta, mother of Sue Hess of Augusta, was held today, Dec. 4,
at First Southern Baptist Church with Rev. George George Goudie officiating.
Burial was in Sunset Lawn Cemetery at El Dorado.
This Augusta homemaker died Saturday, Dec. 1, at the HCA Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Krouse was born Nov. 8, 1906, in Cordell, Okla., to Zeb Franklin Knight and Nora Sisson Knight.
On Feb. 25,1923, she married William E. Krouse in Robbins, Okla. He preceded her in death in 1970.
Mrs. Krouse was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church and memorials to the church have been suggested.
In addition to Mrs. Hess, survivors include sons H. Don Krouse of Fayetteville, Ark., Robert D. Krouse of Houston, Texas, James E. Krouse of Tyler, Texas; a brother,
George H. Knight of Chickasha, Okla.; a sister, Myrtle Rozell of Welling, Okla.; 10 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren.
The Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta was in charge of arrangements.

Janis Marie Prewitt
Janis Marie Prewitt, 34, Leon, died from injuries suffered in an automobile accident Tuesday morning, Dec. 4, in Leon.
Her funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, at the Leon United Methodist Church.
Rev. Quentin Bennett will officiate and burial will be in the Leon Cemetery.
She was born Jan. 12,1956 in Mooreland, Okla., as a daughter of S. Jack and Wanda Peach Elliott.
The Elliotts now live in Alta Vista.
On April 7, 1983, she and Randy Prewitt were united in marriage at El Dorado. He survives.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Prewitt leaves a daughter, Courtney, of the home;
a brother Craig Elliott of Maize; a sister, Jacquelyn Denney of Lawrence; grandmothers, Lola Peach of Mooreland, Okla., Grace Motley of Ontario, Canada.
Memorials to assist the daughter Courtney with her education have been suggested.
Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado, is in charge of arrangements.
