Matthew E. Gensheer
Matthew E. Gensheer, 21, Parsons, was pronounced dead Wednesday, Jan. 9, at the coroner’s office in Erie.
He was a former Augusta resident.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at the Burris-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Parsons,
the Rev. Joyce Bestor officiating. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Galesburg.
Family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Gensheer was born Nov. 25, 1969, in Denver, Colo., to John R. and Patricia (Green) Gensheer. In 1975,
he moved to Augusta where he lived until moving to Colby in 1983. Two years later,
he moved to Dodge City and then to Neodasha the following year.
In 1987, he moved to El Dorado and graduated from the El Dorado High School
as an honor student with the class of 1988.
Gensheer was an artist and enjoyed drawing. As a boy, he was a Cub Scout and later a Boy Scout.
In 1989, he moved to Galesburg when he worked on a farm.
Survivors include his mother, Patricia Simmons of the home; stepfather, John Simmons of the home;
father, John of El Dorado; stepmother, Carol Gensheer of ElDorado; sisters, Dawn and Michelle of the home;
stepbrother, John Cannon of Hamilton; step-sister, Louisa Brenzikofer of Wichita;
grandmothers, Ruth Green of Galesburg, Emma Gensheer of Denver;
grandfather, James Green of Neodasha; step-grandmothers, Donna Green of Neodasha,
Louise Cannon of Hamilton; step-grandfather, Tom Simmons of Galesburg.
A memorial has been established with the Kansas Child Abuse Prevention Council.
Artie E. Vaughn
Lawyer Artie E. Vaughn, 54, Wichita, died Thursday, Jan. 10. He is the father of Pamela Morgan of Leon.
Funeral services wil be 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at the Ascension Lutheran Church, Wichita.
Other survivors include his wife, Pat; son, Artie E.;
daughter, Angela Welsh of Wichita; stepdaughter, Pamela Russell, Wichita; brother, Donald D. of Wichita;
sister, Aileen, Wichita; four grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association.
Cochran Mortuary, Wichita, is in charge of arrangements.
