Christopher Ray Follis

U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Christopher Ray Follis, 21, Colorado Springs, Colo.,
died Sunday, Feb. 17, in Arapahoe County, Colo., from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.
He was a former Augusta resident.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at the First Baptist Church, Augusta.
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Follis was with the security police in the Air Force and served during the Panama conflict.
He was awarded the Air Force Training Ribbon, Air Force Small Arms Ribbon,
Armed Forces Expenditionary Ribbon and the Armed Forces Meritus Ribbon.
Follis was born July 27, 1969, in Kansas City, Mo.
Survivors include his father, Carroll Ray of Valley Center; mother, Sondra Davis Follis of Augusta;
brothers, Timothy of Augusta, Bill of Wichita; sister, Carol Gill of Mountainburg, Ark.
A memorial has been established with the Augusta Safety Department.
Dunsford Funeral Home, Augusta, is in charge of arrangements.

Bert Looman

Bert Elmo Looman of Cow-pens, 72, S.C., died today. He is the brother of Augusta resident Maggie Henman.
Funeral services are pending with the Hachard Funeral Home in Gaffney, S.C. Burial will be in Gaffney.
Another survivor includes sister Joy Banks of Cordell, Okla.

Joe Harrison

Retired Gold Bond Mine employee Joe Harrison, 70, Sun City, died Wednesday, Feb. 20.
He is the father of Donna Coon-rod of Augusta.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at the Forsyth Funeral Home, Medicine Lodge.
Other survivors include his wife, Geraldine; daughter, Janetta Huston of Ponca City, Okla.;
brother, Kenneth of Grove, Okla.; sister, Hattie Hain of Dewey, Okla.;
six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the Sun City Community Center.

Leonard Mahar

Leonard S. Mahar, 101, Eureka, grandfather of Lynda McDermott from Augusta, died early today
at the Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka.
His funeral service has tentatively been scheduled for Monday afternoon at the Campbell Funeral Home in Eureka.
Mahar was born April 18, 1889 in Greenwood County and was a lifelong resident there.
In addition to the granddaughter here,
Mahar leaves two sons David Mahar of Wamego, and Arthur Mahar of Waverly,
and a daughter, Mary Jane Moore of Eureka.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nettie, and a daughter, Eunice Bogle.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at the M.W. Bobo Funeral Chapel in Spartanburg, S.C.
Another survivor includes sister Jov Banks of Cordell. Okla.
