Alice M. Edwards

Alice M. Edwards, 47, El Dorado, sister of Dale Gooch ofa ugusta, died Tuesday, July 2
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 6 at Leon Cementary.
Mrs. Edwards was born Oct. 7, 1943 in Wichita as a daughter of
William Edward and Helen McGill Gooch.
She formly owned and operated The Shingle in ElDorado and worked at the Amvets Lounge there.
She lived most of her life in Butler County and had made her home in El Dorado for the
past several years.
She leaves two sons, Anthony Van Edwards, Charles Michael Edwards and a daughter
Robin Wells, all of Leon; two sisters Naomi Laswell of El Dorado’ Doris Franks of Beaumont,
and five grandchildren.
Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials to the Alice E. Edwards
fund have been suggested.


Anna Walter

Homemaker Anna Walter, 90. Augusta, died today at the Augusta Medical Complex Inc
Graveside services are 11 a.m. Friday, July 5 at Elmwood Cemetery.
Friend and family may visit from 1-5 p.m. Thursday, July 4 at Dunsford Funeral Home.
Walter was born Oct. 26, 1900 in Russia.
In 1917, she married Isaac Walter.

Patricia
Thompson

Artist Patricia June Thompson, 61, rural Augusta, died Friday, June 5, at her residence.
Funeral services were today at Andover Methodist Church. Burial will be in Andover Cemetery.
Thompson was bom May 7, 1930, in Great Bend to Harley Emmett Price and Helen Marie Jackson.
On May 27, 1961, she married Allan Thompson in Russell. He survives.
Other survivors include sons, Steven Miller of Bel Aire, Joel Bird & Kelly Thompson of the home;
daughter, Susan Stipp of Wichita; mother, Helen Price of Great Bend;
brother, Gerald Price of Fort Collins, Colo.; sisters, Mary Koogle of Parsons, Judith Smith of Great Bend;
eight grandchildren.
A son, Lynn Adair Thompson, preceded her in death in the Vietnam War.
A memorial has been established with Hospice, Inc.
Dunsford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ila Jean Hamilton

Retired nurse’s aide Ila Jean Hamilton, 65, El Dorado, died Friday, July 5,
at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital, El Dorado.
Funeral services are 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, at Dunsford Funeral Home, the Rev. Burl Allison Jr. officiating.
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
Hamilton was bom Dec. 4, 1925, in Riverdale to Edna Applegate and J.S. Siler.
In 1946, she married Forrest M. Hamilton who preceded her in death in 1961.
Survivors include sons, Larry of Haven, Raymond of El Dorado, Joe of Wichita;
daughter, Nancy Thiel of Shawnee, Okla.; eight grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren.


Stella White

Retired White Eagle Credit employee Stella Kathryn White, 85, Augusta, died
Saturday, July 6, at HCA Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.
Funeral services are 10 a.m.' Wednesday at Dunsford Funeral Home, the Rev. Frank Miller officiating.
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
White was born April 2,1906, in Olivet to Lottie Kunce and Sherman Chalmers.
On April 3, 1929, she married Erman A. White in Burden. He preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include sons, Robert E. of Wichita, Dean and Harold, both of Augusta;
11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Fred & Louis; a sister, Nellie Adams; and three
grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the First Nazarene Church of Augusta.
