Keith J. Kunkel

Keith J. Kunkel, 51, Augusta, died Thursday, July 4, at St
Joseph Medical Center, Wichita He is the son of Leo & Freda Kunkel of Augusta
and the brother of Gary D. Kunkel of Augusta.
Funeral services are pending with Cochran Mortuary, Wichita?
Other survivors include sister, Sharon Andrews of Wichita- a son,
Mike Kunkel of Wichita; a daughter, Carey Sue Kunkel of Wichita; one grandson.

Glenda Williams

Glenda Kay Williams, 34, Leon, died Sunday, July 7, of injuries suffered
from a motorcycle accident near Pickrell Comer, east of Augusta.
A graveside service for Ms. Williams will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, at the Douglass Cemetery.
Williams was a former Douglass resident. She worked as a senior demographics clerk for Pizza Hut.
She was born April 24, 1957, in Wichita as a daughter of Robert G. and Elsie Noblitt Williams.
In addition to her parents, she leaves a brother, Robert R. Williams of Seminole, Okla.,
and a sister, Pumey Baker of Towanda.
A memorial has been established with the Douglass Public Library.
Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home of Douglass is in charge of arrangements.

Keith J. Kunkel

Keith J Kunkel, 51, Augusta, died Thursday, July 4, at St. Joseph Medical Center, Wichita
He was the son of Leo & Freda Kunkel of Augusta and brother of Gary D. Kunkel of Augusta.
A graveside service was held today at Elmwood Cemetery
He was a truck driver for Mistletoe Express.
Other survivors include sister, Sharon Andrews of Wichita; a son, Mike Kunkel of Wichita;
a daughter, Kari Kunkel of Wichita and one grandson.
A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society.
Cochran Mortuary, Wichita was in charge of arrangements.

Thelma Bowyer
Thelma Irene Bowyer, 87, Bloomington, died Tuesday, July 9.
Graveside memorial services are 10 a.m. Friday, July 12, at the Cumberland Cemetery.
Bowyer was born Oct. 29, 1903, at Edgerton to Ida F. & A. Howard Collins.
Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Jean Roberts of Bloomington;
three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter.
A memorial has been established with Hospice Inc.
Hillside Funeral Home, Wichita, is in charge of arrangements.

‘Ed’ Dunlop

Robert E. “Ed” Dunlop, 91, formerly of Augusta, died July 5 in Arlington, Va.
A memorial service will be held July 20 in Arlington.
He was born May 25, 1900 in Longton as the second of five children of Maggie and James Dunlop.
He came to Augusta in 1926 where he was employed at the White Eagle refinery
(later Socony-Vacuum and Mobil Oil) until his retirement in 1959.
In 1930, he married Esther L. Fischer of Fargo, N.D., who was working here as a hospital laboratory technician.
With other partners, Dunlop was a developer of the Park Place
subdivision in northwest Augusta and lived for many years in a house he built at 1618 Highland Drive.
In 1985, he and Esther relocated to Arlington, Va., a suburb of Washington, D.C., to be closer to their daughter.
Dunlop was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Elks Lodge here.
He followed politics closely and was an ardent and lifelong Democrat.
He was also an avid quail and duck hunter and golfed regularly at the
Augusta golf course until he was in his 80s. He hit a hole-in-one on that course in the 1970s.
Dunlop was a regular at the downtown “Coffee Club.”
In addition to his wife, he leaves daughter Sandra and son-in-law David M. Burns of Arlington, Va.;
two grandchildren, David A. Bums of Haddon-field, N.J. and Patrick Bums of Arlington;
and three greatgrandchildren, Sarah, Austin, and Conor.
Mrs. Dunlop’s address is Apt. 454, Sunrise Potomac, 5900 Wilson Blvd., Arlington, Va., 22205.
