Services held
Graveside services for Utah C. Nichols, 52, and Anita F. Nichols, 44, who were killed in a
Sept. 1 traffic accident in northeastern Oklahoma, were held yesterday at the cemetery in Monroe, Okla.
Rev. James White of the United Methodist Church officiated.
Their survivors include three sons, Robert and Richard of McKinney, Texas, and
Utah C. Nichols II, who was injured in the Sunday afternoon accident and admitted to a hospital in Fort Smith, Ark.
Mr. Nichols also leaves a sister, Edith Watkins of Augusta, and
brothers, Austin, Kenneth, Floyd, and Jimmy, all of Augusta, Ralph, Orville, and Marvin, all of Sapulpa, Okla., and Oren of Eufala, Okla.
Mrs. Nichols leaves sisters, Cathy Christofer of Spanaway, Wash., and Glenda Boroski of Princeton, Texas;
brothers Melvin Monroe of Port Townsend, Wash., Jerry Reed of Denton, Texas, and
Donnie Reed of Dallas, Texas; her mother, Mary Shackleford of Port Townsend, Wash.,
and her father Melvin Monroe of Princeton, Was.
The Evans-Miller Funeral Home at Poteau, Okla., was in charge of arrangements.

Raymond Morse
Raymond H. Morse, 76, Wichita, father of Augusta resident Donna Lowrence, died Friday, Sept. 6.
His funeral was today, Sept. 9, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Wichita.
Morse was a retired National Cash Register buyer.
Other survivors include a son, John of Wichita; daughter, Janice Cowie of Wichita;
sisters, Mae Cox, Tinker Smith, both of Ard-more, Okla.; seven grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the Wichita Swim Club.
Clyde Unruh
Retired farmer Clyde Unruh, 78, Copeland, father of Loretta Hull of Augusta, died Fridav Sept. 6.
His funeral was today, Sept. 9, at the United Methodist Church in Copeland.
Other survivors include his wife, Margaret; sons, Phil of Baxter Springs, Robert Ross of Garden City,
Denton of Scott City, Roger of St. Joseph, Mo., Danny of Colorado Springs, Colo.;
daughters, Carol Beny of Lake St. Louis, Mo., Glenda Vogel of Hutchinson, Adele Koehn of Galva,
Martha Bell of Dodge City, Susan Williams of Montezuma;
brothers, Lincoln of Montezuma, Sam of Copeland, Dewey of Versailles, Mo.;
sisters, Susanna Koehn, Myrtle Koehn, both of Winton, Calif.;
32 grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the Gray County Ambulance.
Marilynn Zinn
Marilynn R. Zinn, 56, Dallas, Texas, mother of Tom Zinn and Karren Waylannd of Augusta, died Sunday, Sept. 8.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, in Dallas, Texas.
She also leaves her mother, Ruth Saulsbury of Dallas, a brother, Gary McCoy of Carrollton,
sons Larry Zinn of Dallas and Mark Zinn of Las Vegas, Nev., and five grandchildren. ’
Flowers or memorials may be sent in care of Ruth Saulsbury, 911 St. Joseph, Dallas, Texas’ 75246.
Opal Schnake
Opal Schnake, 74, mother of Augusta resident Earl Wallace Schnake, died Friday, Sept. 6.
Her funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, at Faith Church in Monett, Mo.
Burial will be in Strotts City Cemetery.
Schnake was born May 2, 1917, to Daniel & Faye Cottingham Whithouse.
In 1931, she married Lloyd John Schnake Jr. who preceded her in death on July 27, 1979.
Other survivors are son, Lloyd John Jr. Schnake of Pierce City, Mo.;
daughters, Dorothy Doenning of Ozark, Mo., Opal Faye Swearingen of Nixa, Mo.,
Viola Jean Evans of Marionville, Mo., Linda Beck of Cassville, Mo., Erma Langley of Billings, Mo.,
Kay Long of Cassville, Mo.; 29 grandchildren; 41 greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services are pending at Dunsford Funeral Home, Augusta. .
