Elmer Barth

Elmer Edward Barth, 86, of Augusta died Monday, Jan. 27, 1997, at Via Christi-St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita.
His funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, at Dunsford Chapel with Rev. Roger Guy, First Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Elmer Edward Barth was born Jan. 20, 1911, in Harper County to John and Emma (Maninger) Barth.
He married Dorothy G. Smith Aug. 2, 1942, in Augusta.
He was a supervisor at Boeing before his retirement and a member of First Christian Church of Augusta.
Survivors are wife, Dorothy Barth of Augusta; son, Jamie Barth of Rose Hill; daughter, Susanne Richardson of Wichita; brothers Virgil Barth of Wichita and John Barth of Morning Sun, Iowa, and grandchildren Christopher Barth and Jeffrey Crown.
A memorial has been established with First Christian Church, 1600 State, Augusta, KS. 67010.

Robert DaMetz

Robert Eugene DaMetz, 83, of Douglass died Monday, Feb. 3, 1997, at Medicalodge.
His graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, at Cumberland Cemetery with Rev. Chuck Terrill of Haverhill Christian Church officiating.
Robert Eugene DaMetz was born Dec. 12, 1913, to Omar and Margaret (Coffin) DaMetz in Harlan.
He married Helen Monthey Nov. 1, 1936, in North Platte, Neb.
He served in the navy and was an engineer at Boeing Aircraft before his retirement.
Survivors are wife, Helen of Douglass; daughter, Betty Mayfield of Douglass; brother, Ralph DaMetz of California and one grandchild.

Lee DeLaughder

Lee R. DeLaughder, 68, of Augusta died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 1997, in Rose Hill.
His graveside memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, at Leon Cemetery with Rev. Chuck Terrill presiding.
Lee R. DeLaughder was born May 17, 1928, to Harold F. and Maudie (Hawkins) DeLaughder in Denoya, Okla.
He married Virginia Snyder July 25, 1945, in Newkirk, Okla.
He was a professional truck driver.
Survivors are wife, Virginia DeLaughder of Augusta; son, Rick DeLaughder of Haskell, Okla.; daughters, Julie Wolf of Salina, Danine Peters of Augusta and Candice Taft of Rosalia; sister, Janet Miller of Howard; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the American Diabetes Association, 3210 E. Douglas, Wichita, KS. 67208-3309.

January 23, 1997

Helen Redington

Helen J. Redington, 86, of Augusta died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 1997, at Augusta Medical Center.
Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, at Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta. Her mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at St. James Catholic Church with Fr. Jim Mainzer conducting the service. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Helen Josephine Redington was born August 8, 1910, to Thomas George and Hannah (Culhane) Redington in rural Augusta
She was a retired Sears, Roebuck & Company department head in charge of piece goods.
Survivors are brother, Owen Redington of Towanda; nephew, James Redignton of Wichita and nieces Teresa Moore and Alicia Redington of Wichita and Joan Bums of Richardson, Texas.
A memorial has been established with Catholic Charities. Contributions may be sent to the funeral home.
