Forest Brumm
Forest E. Brumm, 93, of Augusta died Sunday, June 1, 1997, after a lengthy illness.
His graveside service will be at 11 a. m. Tuesday, June 10, in Sunset Cemetery, Manhattan.
He was born in Manhattan to Carl Fred and Sarah Jane
Brumm.
He attended Manhattan public schools and Kansas State University where he majored in
journalism. .
He married Mary F. Stitt Jan 19 1927, in Topeka. They lived most of their married life m
southern California.
He was a retired building inspector and appraiser for Los Angeles County. .
Survivors are sisters, Berniece E. Brian of Wichita and Millicent L. Gunnerson of Augusta; two nephews, three nieces and several great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, two brothers, Herman B and John P. and three sisters, Martha, Gladys and
Wivvie. ,
A memorial has been established with Cottonwood Point Activity Fund, 100 Cottonwood Point, Augusta, KS 67010

Funeral arrangements were pending this morning with Downing & Lahey Mortuary, Wichita.
William Lackey
William Floyd “Bill” Lackey, 62, of Bella Vista, Ark. and formerly of Augusta died Saturday, May 31, 1997, in Springdale, Ark.
His graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, at Elmwood Cemetery. Dr. Robert Box of Augusta First Baptist Church will officiate. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 6, at Whitney Mountain Chapel in Garfield, Ark.
Bill Lackey was born Dec. 26, 1934 in Augusta to Floyd and Ruby (Woolery) Lackey.
He married Gerry Lynn Hargrove June 29, 1959, in Augusta.
He was a supervisor at Mobil Oil Refinery, retiring after 34 years of service. He also volunteered as an usher for all University of Arkansas athletic events after moving to Arkansas.
Survivors are wife, Gerry Lackey of Bella Vista, Ark.; daughter and son-in-law, Kimbra and Ray Downey of Dallas, Texas; sisters and brothers-in-law, Karen and Tony Moore, Shirley and Ronnie Baxter and Jannie and Larry Flores all of Augusta and granddaughter Katelyn Downey of Dallas, Texas.
A memorial has been established with the Razorback Foundation, P.O. Box 3518, Fayetteville, AR 72702-3518. Services were arranged by Dunsford Funeral Home.
