Richard Rippee
Richard W. “Dick” Rippee, 62, of Augusta died Sunday, May 25, 1997, at Via Christi-St. Francis Medical Center.
His funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 29, at Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta Chapel. Rev. Frank Miller and Rev. Paul Welch will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
He was born Sept. 10, 1934, to Huey L. and Lola B. (Singleton) Rippee in Augusta.
He married Judy Bainter Nov. 16, 1956 in Augusta and was a retired school teacher and Davis Moore employee.
He served in the U.S. Navy from September 1954 until August 1958 during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors are wife, Judy Rippee of Augusta; sin, Rick Rippee of Augusta; daughter, Debra L. Grove of El Dorado; mother, Lola Rippee of Augusta and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, a brother and two sisters.
Memorials have been established with the American Cancer Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Vergie L. Brown
Vergie L. Brown, 80, of Enid, Okla, and formerly of Augusta died Friday, May 23, 1997, at Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City after surgery.
Her funeral service was Monday, May 26, at the Wesley Chapel in First United Methodist Church of Enid with Rev. Lucinda Holmes officiating.
Burial was at 2 p.m. today, May 27, in Elmwood Cemetery.
Vergie L. Hale was born Aug. 29, 1916 on a farm in Garfield County.
She married Dorris M. Brown July 24, 1934. He was in the oil business. He died in 1954 in Augusta.
She was a cosmetologist for many years before becoming a nurse. She retired in 1980 after which she did volunteer work.
Survivors are daughter and son-in-law, Doris Ann and Wesley M. Densmore of Calgary, Canada; brothers, Joe C Hale of Purcell, Okla., Bob Hale of Grand Lake, Okla., Dick Hale of Pampa, Texas, and Billy Hale of Gainesville, Texas; and sister, Lois Norris of West Chester, Pa.

Harold W. Moon
Harold W. Moon, 90, of Winfield and father of Elaine Thomas of Augusta, died Sunday, May 25, 1997, at Winfield Rest Haven.
His funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Burial will be in Tisdale Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home until 9 p.m.tonight and until noon Wednesday.
He was born Aug. 18, 1906 to Laban Elysha and Annie (Brooks) Moon in Tisdale. He received his education in the Frog Hollow rural school and began farming as a youth.
He married Sara Rowena Linnens Sept. 9, 1931, and the couple lived and worked on their farm throughout their marriage. She preceded him in death Dec. 4,1953.
He married Veryl Archer at Tisdale United Methodist Church July 26, 1958.
He was a member of Tisdale United Methodist Churglv served as a tmstee and member of the Tisdale Township Board and was a members of the Harmony School Board.
Survivors are wife, veryl Moon of Winfield; daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Bill Thomas of Augusta and daughter, Janice Filbert of Kirksville, Mo.; step-sons, Kermit Rowe of Wichita and Daniel Rowe of Omaha, Neb.; step-daughters, Charlyne Paton of Winfield and Virginia Shutt of Bartlesville, Okla.; brother, J. Howard Moon of Winfield; 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by son, William Royce Moon; brother, Paul Moon; sisters Myra Moon and Clemance Greenler and grandson, Milton Andrew Moon.

Freeda M. (Seeley) Piatt, 78, of Grove, Okla, and formerly of rural Augusta; died Monday, May 26,1997.
Her graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, at Elmwood Cemetery.
Survivors are brothers Harold Miller of Augusta and Virgil Miller of El Dorado and sisters Marjorie Hampton of Wichita and Vera Stephenson of Hutchinson.
