Waynette Deacon

Waynette Deacon, 61, of Augusta died Thursday, July 10, 1997.
Her funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 12, at Dunsford Chapel with Pastor Steve Pickard of Hope Community Church in Andover officiating. Burial will be in Welch Cemetery, Welch, Okla.
Waynette Vann was born Nov. 13, 1935, in Little Rock, Ark., to John Sr. and Audrey (Dodson) Vann.
She married Charles “Chuck” Deacon and was a bank teller.
Survivors are husband, Chuck Deacon of Augusta; sons, Mike Young of Seattle, Wash., and Charles Deacon, Jr. of Augusta; daughter, Charlotte Jones of Andover; sister, Wanda Hoover of Sheridan, Ark.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with Hospice Inc.

Opal May Cox

Opal May Cox, 88, of Wichita and formerly of Augusta died Wednesday, July 9, 1997.
Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 14, at Old Mission Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be in Highland
Cemetery, Winfield, at 1:30 p.m.
She was born March 2, 1909, in Windsor, Mo., to Henry and Carrie (Hester) Taylor. She was a homemaker.
Survivors are daughter, Virginia Schofield of Wichita; son, Delmar Cox of Kent, Wash.; sisters, Gladys White of Salinas, Calif., and Helon Billings of Orem, Utah,; seven grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jim cox, 1996.
Memorials have been established with the American heart Association and Botanica Gardens of Wichita.
