Otis W. Davison
Otis W. Davison of Augusta died Saturday July 11, 1998 in Augusta.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 15, at Hillside Funeral Home
Otis was a farmer, a freight line employee, and a carpenter.
Davison was born on Dec. 12, 1925 in Newkirk, Okla., the son of Hugh Davison and June Noeller.
Davison leaves his wife, June Davison of Augusta, as well as daughters Barbara Hall of Platte City, Mo., Jeanie Claytor of Platte City, Mo., and Rose Canady of Augusta. Davison also leaves his step sons, Lloyd Emery, Dennis Emery, and James Emery, all of Augusta, as well as 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Davison was a member of VFW and American Legion, and memorials can be made to Veterans of Foreign Wars in Augusta.
Robert Engelbert
Augusta’s former electric distribution chief Robert E. Engelbert, 69, Augusta, died Sunday, July 5, 1998, at the Via Christi St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita..
His funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 9, at St. John’s Catholich Church in Beloit.
A visitation will be conducted at the Dunsford Funeral Home here until 8 o’clock this evening.
A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, at the Harrison Funeral Home in Beloit. Fthr. Henry Baxa will officiate.
Burial will be in the St. John’s Cemetery at Beloit following a military graveside service.
He was born Nov. 14, 1928 in Beloit as the son of John Engelbert and Caroline Heidrick Engelbert.

Rupert F. Hays, 74, Augusta, died last night, July 2, 1998, at the Wesley Medical Center in
Wichita where he had been a patient.
His funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday, July 6, at First Christian Church, 1600 State.
Other details of his funeral set vice were pending this morning at the Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta.
Hays was longtime manager of the former Criss Optical plant in Augusta and he was very active in Optimist Club at the local and state level.
He managed Criss Optical Co. Crom 1967 until his retirement in 1989.
Hays was chair of the state youth oratorical contest for the Kansas Optimists and had served as a lieutenant governor for the service organization in this area.
He enjoyed life and teasing his Optimist friends.
Hays also served on Augusta Housing Authority board of directors.
