Robert Todd

Robert Dean Todd, 86, of Andover, died Monday., Aug. 10, in Andover.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 13 at the Hillside Funeral Home. Augusta Chapel. Beth Sharpsteen and Chaplain Ron Keith will officiate. His remains will be buried at Elmwood Cemetery.
Robert Todd was born Nov. 13, 1911 to Lonnie Todd and Frances Horton in Apache, Okla.
He married Kathryn E. Crane on June 14, 1935 in Augusta. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Sylvia Hudson of Wichita, and Jill Boucher of Leon, and a son, Ralph of Tarpley, Texas. Robert Todd’s son, David, preceded him in death in 1996.
He is also survived by seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and two great-greatgrandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to Hospice Inc. and American Kidney Foundation.

Kenneth Ludlam

Kenneth Earl Ludlam, 72, of Rifle, Colo., died Tuesday, Aug 4, at the Colorado State Veterans Home in Rifle.
Services were held Friday. Aug. 7 at the First Christian Church in Rifle.
Kenneth Ludlam was born March 24, 1926 to Fred Cecil and Irene (Porter) Ludlam in Fall River, Kansas. He spent his childhood in Toronto and Augusta and graduated from Augusta High School in 1944.
He married Louise Thornton on Jan. 28, 1966 in Lancaster, Calif. She survives.
After graduation he reported for duty with the US Navy during World War II, served for the duration and was honorably discharged in 1946. He was an Electrician on the USS Taylor DD468. His ship transported the press to the USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay where President Truman presided over the surrender ceremony. Each member of the crew on the USS Taylor received a commendation for their part in this operation.
Mr. Ludlam retired from RCA Service Company in 1981 and from Fidelco Communications in 1988.
He was baptized in 1939 at the Christian Church in Augusta and served as a Junior Deacon there. He was a member of the Christian Church in Rifle.
His parents, a brother, Clifford, and a stepbrother, John Mercer, preceded him in death.
Other survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law: Miriam and (Ariel) Levi of Farming-ton Hills, Mich.; Debora and (Bruno) Bailey of Vicennes, France and Gloria and (Enrique) Vincente of Madrid, Spain; five grandchildren, Dan and Rena Levi of Mich., Paul and Abigail Bailey of France and David Vincente Ludlam of Spain; a brother Lloyd and (Holly) Ludlam of Colorado Springs, Colo.; aunt and uncle, Winifred and Murl Ludlam of Toronto; aunt, Lucille Porter, of Mesa, Ariz., stepsister Fern Powers of Augusta and step-brother, Earl Mercer, of Texas, numerous relatives, cousins, nieces and nephews.
