Herschel L. Hale

Herschel Leon Hale, 69, retired painter, died Sept. 1, 1998 at Via Christi St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita.
His graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, at Elmwood Cemetery. Pastor Clyde Stockton of Victory Worship Center will conduct the ceremony.
Visitation will be at the Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta until 8 o’clock this evening.
He was born Aug. 5, 1929, in Temple Okla, to Albert F. Hale and May (Wilson) Hale.
He was married to Letha Lackey in 1961 in Wichita. He served in the Army.
Survivors include: wife Letha; brother Olan Hale of Salinas, Calif.; sister Nadine Holbrook of Plainview, Tx.; several neices and nephews, including Shirley Lackey Baxter, Karen Lackey Moore, and Jannie Lackey Flores of Augusta.

Vida O’Donnell

Vida O’ Donnell, 85, retired Augusta School District teacher, died Thursday, Sept. 10,1998, at the Lake Point Nursing Home.
Her funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, at the First United Methodist Church in Augusta.
She was born April 17, 1913 in Douglass to Everett Glaves and C. Ella (Rhinesmith) Glaves.
She was married to Omer F. O’Donnell Sept. 7, 1943 in Wichita.
Survivors include: sons Jim of Augusta and Jerry of Gladewater, Texas.; sister Dorothy Wilson of Augusta; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial has been established with the United Methodist Church Building Fund, 2420 N. Ohio, Augusta, Ks. 67010.
Hillside Funeral Home Augusta is in charge of arrangements.
