‘Tarzan’ Henman
Elward “Tarzan” Wayne Henman, 88, died Tuesday, March 30, 1999 in Augusta.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 3, 1999 at Elmwood Cemetery, with Dr. Robert Box officiating.
He was born on April 2, 1910 in Broken Bow, Neb., to Wamey Elroy Henman and-Ada Bell Brakeman.
He married Maggie Looman on April 9, 1940. She survives.
He is also survived by: Sons, Wayne of Ashflat, Ark.; Stephen « of Las Vegas, Nev.; David of K Augusta; a step-son, Don Taylor I of Buckville, Ark,; a daughter, B Margie McCarthy of El Dorado; E a brother, Oral “Pete” of R Modesto, Calif.; 16 grandchil- H dren, 21 great grandchildren and E one great great grandchild. Blossom B. Motley
Blossom B. Motley, 101, of Eureka, died Tuesday, March 30, 1999 at Greenwood County Hospital. She was a former resident of Augusta and El Dorado.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 2, 1999 at Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado. Interment will follow at Walnut Valley Memorial Park in El Dorado.
She was born Nov. 7, 1897 in Wichita, the daughter of W. Bruce and Jennie B. Ball Rose.
Mrs. Motley was a homemaker and had made her home in Eureka since 1980. She had also lived in Augusta for many years. She was a member of Social Order of the Beauceant.
On May 31, 1926, she married John Hearn Motley in a ceremony in Burlington. He preceded her in death on Aug. 20, 1987. She is survived by a number of cousins.
Memorials in her memory for the Humane Society may be left at Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado.
Blanche Beaumont
Blanche H. Beaumont, 96, homemaker, of Augusta, died Sunday, July 18,1999.
Service will be Friday, July 23, 1999 at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church. Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta is in chaige of arrangements.
She is survived by: sons, Marvin of Leon and Warren of Hemphill, Texas; four grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Memorial has been established with Leon Library.
ARNOLD MacDOWELL
‘Doc’ McDowell
J. Arnold “Doc” McDowell, 85, of Augusta, died Saturday, March 27, 1999 at Augusta Medical Complex.
Service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 31, at Haverhill Christian Church with Rev. Chuck Terrill officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Lawn Cemetery in El Dorado.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 30, from noon to 8 p.m. at the Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta.
He was born July 29, 1913 in Haverhill as the son of James S. McDowell and Grace Arnold McDowell.
Mr. McDowell was a retired transport driver. He worked for Mobil Oil for 34 years.
He was also a member of Haverhill Christian Church and the Wichita Consistory 2, Mystic Tie Lodge 74.
On June 19, 1938 he married Irma Georgetta Britting who preceded him in death in 1969.
On June 1, 1976 in Miami, Okla., he married Leona Powers Dill. She survives.
He is also survived by: a son, Keith McDowell of Clarksville, Ark.; daughters Mary Ann Hawley and Ava McHone, both of Augusta; step-daughters, Joyce Triboulet of Branson, Mo., and Jeanene Stanback of Marana, Ariz.; a sister, Hattie Kingsley of Beaumont, Texas.; 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Haverhill Christian Church.
