Shelby D. Neitzel
Shelby Dean Neitzel, 17, of Douglass, died Sunday, March 28, 1999.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, April 1, 1999, at Christ Lutheran Church of Augusta. .
Visitation will be at Christ Lutheran Church until 7 p.m. tonight and on Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Thursday until the time of service.
Shelby was a student at Douglass High School.
He is survived by his father, Steven B. Neitzel of Douglass; his mother, Janet Lee Neitzel, Cheney; a brother, Casey Lee Neitzel of Douglass; a sister, Valerie Ruth Neitzel of Cheney; grandparents, Wilmer W. Grun-
deman of Wichita and Floyd L. and Janice M. Neitzel of Wichita.
Memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran Church in Augusta.
Evelyn Patten
Evelyn Gertrude Patten, 82, Augusta, died Sunday, March 28, 1999 at AMCI in Augusta.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 1, 1999 at Elmwood Cemetery with Rev. Amos Williams officiating.
She was born April 8, 1916 in Kario,W. Va., to James Riggs and Margaret Cunningham.
There will be visitation from 1 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday,
March 31, 1999 at Dunsford Funeral Home chapel here.
Mrs. Patten was a homemaker who was preceded in death in 1988 by her husband, Lester Patten. They were married on April 21, 1938 in Wellington.
She is survived by; sons Glenn Patten and Donald Patten, both of Augusta; a daughter, Marilyn Truby of Wichita; a sister, Jessie McKenz>r of Augusta; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Augusta Medical Complex Inc.
Ethel Fern Cody
Ethel Fern Cody, 89, Augusta, died Saturday, April 24, 1999 at the Lakepoint Nursing Center.
Her graveside funeral service will be 2 p.m. tomorrow, April 27, at Elmwood Cemetery.
There will be visitation until 8 o’clock this evening at the Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta and from 9 until 12 noon tomorrow.
She was born Feb. 7, 1910 in Minnesota as the daughter of Leon L. Wheeler Sr. and Myrtle E. Wood Wheeler.
On Nov. 16, 1933, she married Acy Bill Cody Sr. He preceded her in death in 1981.
This homemaker is survived by sons, Acy Bill Cody Jr. of Wellington, Irvin Cody and Lawrence Cody, both of Augusta; brothers, Leon L. Wheeler Jr. of California,, 14 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Memorials to Heartspring, 8700 E. 29th Street North, Wichita, have been suggested by the family. -
Stanley Benton
Stanley Clarence Benton, 83, Augusta, died Wednesday, April 7, 1999.
His graveside service will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 10, at the Friends Cemetery in Preston.
Mr. Benton was a retired sheetmetal porker at Boeing.
In addition to his wife, he leaves sons Stanley Benton of Colorado Springs, Colo., Terrence Benton of Benbrook, Texas, and Thomas Benton of Captain Cook, Hawaii, 10 grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren.
The family requests no flowers, but suggests donations to the American Heart Association at 2100 E. Douglass in Wichita, Kan., 67214.
The Hillside Funeral Home Augusta is in charge of arrangements. /J-

Jesse Jolene (Chisman) Palmer, 64 of Augusta, Chis-man Shoe Store owner and operator, died Thursday, April 22, 1999.
Visitation will be Saturday, from noon to 5 p.m., and Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m. at Dunsford Funeral Home.
Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 26, 1999 at Dunsford Chapel. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery.
She was born Nov. 21, 1934 in Wichita to Jesse Vernon Chisman and Mary Eliza Tyn-
dall.
On Oct. 31, 1951 in Augusta, she married Robert Gene Palmer, who preceded her in death in 1991.
She is survived by: sons, Clinton W. Palmer and Clifton T. Palmer, both of Augusta; sister, Kay Kid of Salina; and three grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the American Dia-
betes Association.
