Edith M. Norton
Edith May (VanDever) Norton, 96, died Monday, May 10, 1999 at Lakepoint Nursing Center.
Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, 1999 at Dunsford Funeral Home.
Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 13, 1999 at Dunsford Chapel. Rev. Chester Bodenhamer will officiate. Burial will be n Leon Cemetery.
She was born on March 14, 1903 in Indian Territory, Okla-homa.to Robert M. Rash and Hettie E. Baker.
On Aug. 6, 1919, she married Charles Noah VanDever in Dewey, Okla. He preceded her in death in 1977.
On May 31, 1980 in Haverhill, she married Lee Norton. He preceded her in death in 1984.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Violet and a grand- son, Ted Anderson.
Mrs.Norton was a homemaker, and a member of the Baptist Church.
She is survived by sons, William l L. VanDever of Tulsa, Okla.,
Charles Ray VanDever of San Antonio, Texas., Edward Leroy VanDever of Tulsa, Okla., and Jack Dean VanDever of Leon; daughter, Hazel Irene Anderson of Leon; grandchildren, Lloyd, Floyd, and Walter VanDever, Royce Gertz, Kathy Anderson, Aleta VanDever, Mitchell VanDever, Cheryl Cook, Michael VanDever, Vicki King, Jamie VanDever, Jodi Fox and the late Ted Andenjpn; and 22 greatgrandchildren
Frances Anderson
Frances Emma Anderson, 96, of Augusta died Sept. 21, 1999.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. at the Dunsford Chapel in Augusta, Thursday, Sept. 23, Graveside services will be held Friday, Sept. 24, at the Leon Cemetery.
She was born July 28, 1903 in Hanover, Pa., to William and Martha Wentz.
She was a homemaker and attended the Methodist Church.
Carl Anderson and her were married June 26, 1924 in
Wichita.
She is survived by nephew, Donald Wentz, nieces, Patricia Stanley and Mary Winzer all of Augusta.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her brother Artie Wentz.
Bessie Rowan
Bessie J. Pebley Rowan, 77, died Friday, May 14, 1999 at Lakepoint Nursing Center in Augusta.
Her funeral will be Tuesday, May 18, 1999 at 1 p.m. at the Augusta First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Robert Box officiating. Burial will be at Deer-creek Cemetery, Selma, Ore.
Dunsford Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
She was born March 30, 1922 in Akron, Ohio to Lawrence O. Clark and Katherine A. Mil-bourne.
She married Luther R. Peb-ley, who preceded her in death. She later married Delbert Rowan, who also preceded her in death.
She was a retired para-professional in Josephine County, Ore., where they named a playground after her at the elementary school.
She is survived by: son, Walt Pebley of Albany, Ore.; daughters, Linda Box of Augusta and Ann Nowicki of Eugene, Ore.; brother, Gerald Clark of San Francisco, CA.; sisters, Gloria Raney of Bend, Ore., and Elsie Brady of Tulsa, Okla.; seven grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Library Fund, 1501 State Street, Augusta, KS 67010.
James Boren
James Harold Boren, 82, died Thursday, May 13, 1999 in Wichita.
Visitation will be today, May 17, 1999 at the Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 18, 1999 at Elmwood Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Tom Davis of First Christian Church.
James was born July 1, 1916 in Joplin, Mo., to Lloyd Charles Boren and Louisa Boren.
On Nov. 15, 1941, he married Kathryn Atkisson in El Dorado.
He was a retired lab technician for Mobil Oil refinery. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II, as a staff sergeant.
He was a member of the First Christian Church of Augusta.
He is survived by: wife, Kathryn Boren; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Debbie Boren of Augusta;and grandchildren, Nathan and Amanda Boren of Augusta. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd Boren, Jr. and a sister, Dorothy Cotton.
Memorials may be made to the Augusta High School theater department.
Nancy Jackson
A funeral service for Nancy Jackson, sister of Bruce Bourget and daughter of Evalyn Bourget of Augusta, was held May 11, 1999 in Arvada, Colo.
A family graveside service was held Monday, May P, 1999, at the
Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
She was the daughter of Evalyn and the late John Bourget. of Augusta.
In addition to her mother and brother, she leaves her husband, Don Jackson and son Russell, both of Arvada, one niece, and three nephews.
