Charlene Young
Charlene E. Young, 55, Wichita, formerly of Augusta, died Monday at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Her service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Pilgrim Congregation Church in Wichita. Rev. David Lyon will officiate and burial will be in the Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society.
She was born Aug. 14, 1927 in St. Joseph, Mo., to James and Lillian Withman Pepper.
She lived in Augusta for some time and graduated from Augusta High School.
She married John Young Nov. 26, 1947 in Emporia. He survives.
Other survivors include sons, Brad Young of Wichita, Staff Sgt. Robert A. Young of Lawton, Okla.; her mother, Lillian Goodell of Wichita, and two grandchildren.

Davis Rites Are Tomorrow
Lawrence L. Davis, 76, Douglass, died Thursday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
His service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Douglass United Methodist Church. Rev. John Martin will officiate and burial will be in the Friends Cemetery in Rose Hill.
A memorial has been established with the Douglass United Methodist Church.
He was born Oct. 1, 1906 in Rose Hill to Elijah and Rosa Bell Chance Davis.
He married Edna May Jones Aug. 24, 1929 in Wichita. She survives.
He was a Boeing Military Aircraft Co., employee before his retirement.
Survivors also include a son, Lyle Davis of Broken Arrow, Okla.; a brother, Robert Davis of Rose Hill; a sister, Fern Gorham of Kansas City, Mo.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home in Douglass is in charge of arrangements.

Nephew Dies In Washington
Rev. Charles Burns, 56, Oakesdale, Wash., nephew of Bea Ewalt, Leila Williams, Terry Decker and D. R. Bums, all of Augusta, died Friday of an apparent heart attack.
A memorial service was at noon today in Oakesdale.
He was raised in Augusta. After graduating from Augusta High School, he joined the U.S. Navy.
He preached at the First Baptist Church in Derby, Sharon and in Kansas City, Kan., before moving to Oakesdale.
Other survivors include his mother, Cora Burns of Wichita, and two sisters, Cleta Henline of Wichita and Dorothy Bloom of Tempe, Ariz.

Brother Dies
Robert W. “Rob” Osborn, 37, Goodland, Sherman County assessor and brother of Augustan Priscilla All, died Friday, Jan. 28, at his home.
His funeral service was today at the Stockton (Kan.) Congregational Church and burial was in the cemetery there. Memorial gifts may be made to the Fort Hays State University music department.
He was born July 19, 1945 at Pensacola, Fla., as a son of Robert and Elizabeth Osborn. His parents survive.
The Fort Hays State University graduate married the former Dixie King at Stafford, Kan., on Dec. 29, 1977. She survives.
In addition to his parents, his wife and his sister here, Osborn leaves a brother, Dr. Mark Osborn of Pueblo, Colo.; another sister, Mrs. Barbara Humpert of Winfield; seven nieces and nephews.
The Smith Funeral Home of Stockton was in charge of arrangements.
Howard Franks Dies At 82
Howard T. Franks, 82, Wichita, formerly of Augusta, died Saturday at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita.
His service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Rev. Burl Allison Jr., will officiate and burial will be in the Beaumont cemetery.
He was born Aug. 10, 1900 in Illinois to Taylor and Martena Sweet Franks.
The retired Mobil Oil Co. employee is survived by three sons, Howard Franks Jr. of New Braunfels, Texas, Robert Franks of Killeen, Texas and Raymond Wyandotte, Okla.; two daughters, Thelma F. Dominy of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Veleda Ott of El Dorado; two stepdaughters, Opal Wartick of El Dorado and Velva Rosiere of Wyandotte; two brothers, Jesse Franks of Leon and Walter Franks of Moses Lake, Wash.; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Jesse Lackey Dies At AMCI
Jesse William Lackey, 74, 411 Broadway, died Feb. 1 at the Augusta Medical Complex.
His service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Burial wil be in Elmwood Cemetery.
He was born Jan. 29, 1909 in Grove, Okla., to Samuel and Martha Morrison Lackey.
He was a carpenter.
Survivors include two sisters, Letha Hale of Wichita and Betty Wilson of Augusta, and a sister-in-law, Ruby Lackey, of Augusta.
