Beverly Shelton

Beverly E. Shelton, 63, Augusta, died Wednesday, June 16, 1999.
Visitation will be at Hillside Funeral Home in Augusta on Saturday, June 19 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday June 20 from 1 to 6 p.m.
Funeral will be Monday, June 21, 1999 at 11 a.m. at First Church of God with Rev. Frank McKinley officiating. Interment will be at Andover Cemetery.
Mrs. Shelton was born on July 25, 1935 in Augusta, to Earl Harold Burris and Juanita Catherine Dewing.
She was a retired convenience store manager.
She is survived by: husband, Roger Shelton of Andover; mother, Juanita Burris of Augusta; sons, James McReynolds of Augusta, Larry McReynolds, Rick McReynolds and Jerald McReynolds, all of Wichita; step-sons, Jay Allan Shelton of Germany, and Aaron D. Shelton of Coon Rapids, Minn.; daughters, Kathy Canady of Augusta and Tony G. Shelton of St. Cloud, Minn.; step-daughter, Rachel Frantz of Grand Rapids, Mich.; brothers, Bobby Burris of Augusta and Harold Burris of Wichita; sisters, Marsha Davis of Augusta and
Gertrude Crum of Wichita; 16 grandchildren and one greatgrandchild.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Hospice.

Bessye McGlocklin

Bessye P. McGlocklin, 82, died Wednesday, June 16, 1999 at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 19, 1999 at First United Methodist Church in Augusta with Dr. Donald Crisp officiating. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in rural Augusta.
She was born Sep. 2, 1916 in Muskogee, Okla, to Walter W. Compton and Barbara Ann Whitemire. She married Earl A. McGlocklin on April 10, 1940. He preceded her in death in 1980. She was also preceded in death by a son, Mickey Earl McGlocklin. She was a member of First Southern Baptist Church of Russell.
She is survived by: son, Michael Alan McGlocklin of Russell; daughters, Jody Warren and Terry Robin McGlocklin, both of Augusta; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta is handling the arrangements.



Michael Johnson

Michael Johnson, 46, of Augusta died Friday, July 16,1999 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Wichita.
His funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 17,1999 at First Church of God, with Rev. William Jeffress officiating. Interment will be at the National Cemetery at Fort Leavenworth.
He was a painter by trade and a Vietnam veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty McCormick Johnson, who was from Beloit, Kan.
He is survived by: father, Wayne Johnson and step-mother Gwen of Novato, Calif. (SF Bay area); son, Kelly; daughters, Jennifer and Heather; step-daughter, Erin Ran-son; brother, Patrick, (all from California); uncle, Kenneth Johnson of Howard; and numerous cousins.

Raymond Larson

Raymond Leslie Larson, 95, a former Augusta resident, died Thursday, June 17, 1999 after a short illness.
His funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday, June 25, 1999 at Downing & Lahey Mortuary East Chapel in Wichita.
He was born in Albert Lea, Minn., on March 6, 1904, the son of Ole P. Larson and Karen M. (Hanson) Larson.
He moved to Augusta in 1923. In 1928, he met his future wife, Helen Haines Larson, daughter of Prairie State Bank founder Roy A. Haines.
Helen and Ray were married in Santa Barbara, Calif., in 1954, after which they lived in Honolulu, Hawaii for 26 months. In 1956, they moved to Dallas, Texas, where they resided for 27 years. They moved to Wichita in 1984.
Helen preceded Ray in death in 1996.
He is survived by: sisters, Francisco Christenson of Long Beach, Calif., Tonya Greenberg of Louisville, Ky. and Pam Hall of Overland Park; guardian and niece, Karen Kirk Richards of Mission Hills and her sister, Diane Jordan of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two other nieces, Karen Temple of Folley Beach, S.C., and Kaye Miller of Albert Lea, Minn.; nephews, Chris and Bert Barteldes of Lawrence.
