Ima Wallace

Ima Lavern Wallace, 95, of Winfield, mother of Lewis Wallace of Augusta, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 1999.
Her funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30 at the First Christian Church in Winfield, with Rev. Shawn Sturm officiating. Burial will be in Wilmont Cemetery in rural Winfield.
She was born Dec. 17, 1903 in Atlanta to Amos and Anna Kennedy.
She married Earl Thomas Wallace in Winfield on Nov. 12, 1918, he died in 1981.
She was a homemaker and worked at William Newton Memorial Hospital as a laundry aid. She was a member of the Christian Women’s Fellowship.
She is survived by sons, Raymond of Winfield, Ralph of Bella Vista, Ark.; daughters Lydia Purins of Elberta, Ala., Laura Kamp-schoeder and Delores Johnson both of Arkansas City, Dollie Hutto Of Winfield and Louetta Starkey of Pratt; brothers Stephen Kennedy of Dallas, Texas, and Basil Kennedy of West Plains, Mo., 20 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials have been established with the First Christian Church.

Lucille Thurman

Lucille C. Thurman, 80, of Hutchinson, mother of Doug Thurman of Augusta, died Oct. 28, 1999.
Her funeral was at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church in Hutchinson on Saturday, Oct 30, Father Richard F. Stuclik officiated. Burial was in Fairlawn Burial Park in Hutchinson.
She was born May 7, 1999 in Kinsley to John and Edith Falk.
She married Joy D.’Jack’ Thurman in Lamed on April 21, 1997. He died in 1997.
She was a homemaker, a long time Dodge City resident and a member of St.Teresa’s Catholic Church.
In addition to the son here, Mrs.Thurman leaves a daughter Diane Hughes of Denver, Co., three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Jim, Raymond and Bill Falk.
Memorials may be sent to St. Teresa’s Catholic Church or The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Frances Elliott

Former Augusta resident and homemaker Frances A. Elliott, 78, El Dorado, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999 at a nursing home.
A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at the Sunset Lawns Cemetery in El Dorado.
She was born Feb. 22, 1921 in Oil Hill as the daughter of Samuel L. and Mabel Belle Davis McDonald.
In 1940, she married Claude H. Elliott. He preceded her in death in 1980.
While in Augusta, she attended the First Christian Church.
The Kirby-Morris Funeral Home at El Dorado is in charge of arrangements.

Donna McCullough

Donna Gayle McCullough, 78, of Vinita, Okla., died, Thursday, Oct. 28.
Funeral services were held today in Cleveland, Okla. Burial was in the Woodland Cemetery in Cleveland.
She was born Nov. 4, 1920 in Cleveland, Okla., the daughter of Archie and Lillian Smith. She grew up there and moved to Calif, after high school and worked in a defense plant until the end of World War II.
She later worked for Mobil Oil retiring in 1980 after living in Augusta for 50 years.
She moved to Vinita in 1998.
She is survived is survived by brother W. L. Smith and his wife Norma of Grand Lake, Okla., and stepdaughter Gloria Miller of Haysville.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
