Dylan Mayfield

Dylan Kelly Mayfield, infant son of Kelly and Courtney Mayfield, died Saturday, Dec. 11, 1999.
His funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, at Hope Community Church in Andover. Rev. Steve Weldon will officiate and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Dylan was born Dec. 7, 1999.
He also leaves a brother Dakota Arredondo of the home; grandparents Kerry and Jessica Mayfield and Jim and Billie Easton all of Augusta and George and Vickie Lucier of Wichita; great-grandparents Leis and Wanda Mayfield of Augusta, Jack E. Sloderbeck Sr. of Augusta, Bill and Marge Thomas of Augusta Bill and Maggie Easton of Wichita, Don and Fern Farley of Sterling, Kay Lucier of Cohen, New York, Great-greatgrandmother Ruby Clippinger of Augusta, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorials may be sent to the Hope Community Church in Andover.

Leo H. Gehlen

Former Augustan Leo H. Gehlen, 87 of Wichita died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999.
His funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 1999 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Colwich.
Rosary will be said at 4 p.m. today, Dec. 30, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Colwich.
He was retired, the owner of The State Lounge.
He is survived by daughter Caroline Roach of Wichita, three grandchildren, and seven greatgrandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Colwich.
Cochran Mortuary of Wichita is in charge of the arrangements.

‘Avis’ Epperson

Velma “Avis” Epperson, 76, of Augusta died Friday, Dec. 10, 1999 at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, at the Augusta Church of Christ with Joe Slater officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
She was born Jan. 19, 1923 in Wichita to Roscoe C. and Vida Johnson.
She was married to Jesse J. Epperson who preceded her in death in June of 1999.
This homemaker leaves sons James, Randy and Rodney, all of Augusta; daughters Carol Boswell of Derby, Jane Schwind of Clifty, Ark., Joan Brinkmam and Kandi Volkman, both of Augusta; brother Donald Johnson of Pettigrew, Ark.; sister Ruby McAllister of Wichita, 21 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and one great-greatgrandchild.
A memorial has been established with the Church of Christ, 3500 Ohio, Augusta, KS. 67101. Arrangements are being handled by Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta.

Regina N. Reed

Former Augustan Regina Nadine Reed, 72, of Topeka died Monday, Dec. 20, 1999.
Her funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 23 at Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel in Augusta.
Vitiation will be Wednesday , Dec. 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta.
Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Rev. Jerald Hooley of Arkanas City will officiate.
She was born June 5, 1927 in Kansas to Charles and Bessie Prigel.
She married Lyle Reed on June 8, 1951 in Augusta.


J.E. Jackle

John Edward Jackle, 62, of Douglass died Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, 1999 at Douglass Christian Church.
He was a retired Cessna Aircraft database systems analyst and engineer.
He is survived by his companion, Lila Guyot; sons John E. Jackie Jr. of Wichita, James William Jackie of Turpin, Okla., Jerry F. Jackie of Douglass; stepdaughters Glenda Campbell of Wichita, Kristie Daves of Joplin, Mo., and 12 grandchildren.
Memorials have been established with the Douglass Public Library and Hospice Inc.
Arrangements made by Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home of Douglass.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Granbury, Texas, and a retired owner and operator of Country Candle & Cake Shop in Granbury, Texas.
She is survived by sons Dennis Reed of Topeka, Charles Reed of Spring, Texas, and Richard Reed of Waxahachie, Texas; daughters Rhonda Reed of Tombull, Texas; brother Walter Prigel of Las Vegas, Nev.; sister Maxine Smith of Augusta and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother Ernie Prigel.
