Faye Clifton

Faye Clifton. 96, of McPherson, formerly of Augusta, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 1999.
Her funeral service will be Thursday, Dec. 30 at Stockham Family Funeral Home Chapel in McPherson with Rev. Robby Bolden officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Dec. 30 in Fairview Cemetery at Smith Center.
Visitation will be from 3 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29. with family present from 6-8 p.m.
She was born in Smith County to Micheal and Jessie Kanouse.
She married John R. Clifton Sr. on Oct. 12, 1921 in Smith Center. He preceded her in death in 1955.
She is survived by sons John “Jack” Jr. of McPherson, David of Chicago, Ill., and daughter Rea Spears of Tulsa, Okla., 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and six great-greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mae Potter-Camp-bell and Stella Boyson

Carl J. Ewald

Carl Jacob Ewald, 75, Augusta, died Tuesday, April 18, 2000 at Via Christi St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita.
His funeral service will be 10 a..m. Monday, April 24, at St. James Catholic Church. Cremation will follow.
A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 23, at the church.
This retired maintenance worker for ITT Hancock leaves his wife,
Betty of Augusta; sons, James Ewald of Mio, Mich., Thomas Ewald of Lewiston, Mich., Steven Ewald of Kooskia, Idaho; daughters, Carla Schwab and Penny Mosier, both of Augusta, Sherry LePlaunt of Indiana, Ellen Love of Howard; brother, Bernard Ewald of Forsyth, Mo.; 32 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and six step-great grandchildren.
The Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements.




‘Clay’ Greenstreet

Thomas Clayton “Clay” Greenstreet IV, 35, of rural Augusta died Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999.
He died from injuries suffered in a traffic accident Sunday in West Wichita.
His funeral service was held today at the First Baptist Church in Melbourne, Ark. Brother Doyne Robertson officiated and burial was in the Reeves Cemetery.
He was born Dec. 15, 1964 at the Palaski County Hospital in Waynesville, Mo. He graduated from high school in Melbourne, Ark., and relocated to this area to work as a professional cutting horse trainer.
Mr. Greenstreet leaves two children, 10-year-old Tiffany, and 2-year-old Weston Myles; parents, Tom and Glenda Greenstreet of Melbourne; two sisters, Tammy Roberts of Melbourne, and Terry Hatfield of Oxford; two nephews, Tyler and Mark Hatfield; paternal grandparents, Mable Weldon of Melbourne and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Coy and Odie Vest Rush and his paternal grandfather, Thomas Clayton Greenstreet Jr.
A memorial fund has been established with the Bank of America in Melbourne, Ark.
Eddie’s Family Funeral Home at Melbourne, Ark., was in charge of arrangements.


Nadine Murray

Nadine Ila Murray, 81, of Augusta, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999.
Her funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999. First Baptist Church in Augusta with Rev. Russ Jackson Officiating.
She was born June 22, 1918 to J.W. and Erca Lee Stafford in Ava, Mo.
She married John Paul Murray on Oct. 9, 1938 in Ava, Mo. He preceded her in death in 1998.
She was also preceded by brothers Bill and Harry Stafford.
She was a retired school teacher and homemaker.
Mrs. Murray is survived by sisters Maxine Basler of Amarillo, Texas, Bonnie Davis of Bish-opville, S.C.; sister-in-laws Wilma Stafford of Augusta, Bonita Stafford of Ava, Mo.
Memorials may be sent to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
