Cleo Lunger

Cleo F. Lunger, 79, Augusta, died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2000.
Her funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2000 at the Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Tom Davis of First Christian Church will officiate.
Visitation hours tomorrow, Jan. 4, will be from 12 to 8 p.m. at the Dunsford Funeral Home, 201 E. Fifth.
Mrs. Lunger will be buried in Elmwood Cemetery.
She was born Oct. 2, 1920 in Cushing, Okla., as the daughter of Oletha Drye Williams and C N. Williams.
On March 7, 1942, she and Lloyd Lunger were united in marriage during a ceremony in Frederick. Okla. He survives.
Mrs. Lunger was an interior decorator and retired owner of the former Cleo’s Interiors and Lunger’s Furniture Store in Augusta. She had a keen interest in genealogy.
In addition to her husband, she leaves daughter Vicki Skaer and her husband Bill Skaer of Wichita; sister, Audra Boutwell of Tulsa, Okla., and two grandchildren - granddaughters Christen Skaer of Wichita and Catherine Skaer of Augusta.
She was a member of the First Christian Church.
Memorials to the Augusta Historical Society have been suggested.

William Tabor

William R. Tabor, 75, of Longton, father of three sons and two sisters living in Augusta, died Dec. 31, 1999.
His funeral service will be held 11:30 a.m. Jan. 4, 2000 at Hillside Funeral Home Augusta.
Mr. Tabor was a retired carpenter.
He is survived by sisters Katherine Dowell and Helen Ohmart of Augusta, wife Joyce of Longton, sons, Allen and Charles both of Augusta, Bill of Port Orchard, Wash., Arthur of Andover, daughters Wanda Wolfe of Agra, Peggy House of Longton, brothers Harry of Corvallis, Ore., Walter of Towanda, James of Cherry Vale, Ray of Beaverton, Ore., 18 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with Calvary Chapel Fellowship of Elk Falls, P.O. Box 13, Elk Falls, Kans. 67345.

Eudell Williams

Eudell M. Williams, 70, of Augusta, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999.
Funeral services are pending and will be held in Batesville, Ark. Burial will be at the Center Grove Cemetery at Walnut Grove, Ark.
Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 2, at Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel in Augusta.
He was born Aug. 23, 1929 in Norfork, Ark. the son of Malachia and Minnie Williams.
He was married to Carol Ann Williams, who survives on Oct. 6, 1955 in Paragould, Ark.
He was retired from Cessna.
Other survivors are son Gary of Augusta, daughters Judy Gardner and Stephanie Spivey both of Batesville, Ark., brothers Woodrow of Cord, Ark, Harold, of Batesville, Ark., Everett of Hamilton, Mo., sister Effie Lindsey of Newark, Ark., seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one step-grandchild.

Lee Elliott

Lee Elliott. 81, of Augusta died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999.
His funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 3, 2000 at First Christian Church in Augusta with Rev. Tom Davis officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
He was born Nov. 2, 1918 in Browntown, south of Augusta, to J.W. and Mary Logsdon Elliott.
He was married to Harriett Bryan on Jan. 29, 1943. She survives.
Mr. Elliott was a retired employee of Mobil Oil refinery transportation department.
He also leaves a brother Jim Elliott of Augusta and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, several sisters and brothers.
He was a 50-year member of the local Masonic Lodge.
Memorials may be sent to the, First Christian Church of Augusta, 1600 State.
The Hillside Funeral Home Augusta is in charge of arrangements.

Laura Porteous

Laura Porteous of Augusta, 75, died on Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000.
She was born on December 5, 1924 in Hillsboro to Charles and Lena Sceimens Schiekof-sky.
Her funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, at Elmwood Cemetery with Pastor Clyde Stockton of Victory Worship Center presiding.
She married Dale M. Porteous on Dec. 31, 1945 in McPherson. He preceded her in death in 1992.
Mrs. Porteous a was a homemaker.
She is survived by son James Porteous of Wichita; sisters Emma Schultz of Dodge City, Irma Bonham of Wichita and Rose Funk of Elmonte, Calif., and three grandchildren.
Dunsford Funeral Home, Augusta is in charge of the arrangements.
