Louida Harvey

Louida Becky Harvey, 87, Augusta, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000.
Her funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday,
March 2, in the Dunsford Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Thomas Davis of First Christian Church officiating.Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be possible between 1 and 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, at the funeral home. The family will be present during the last four hours of visitation.
She was born July 12, 1912 in Augusta, as the daughter of James P. Blue and Leona Gladys Freeman Blue.
She married Guy Harris Oct. 10, 1929. He preceded her in death in 1966.
She was wed to S.R. Harvey Feb. 22, 1967. He died died later that year.
Mrs. Harvey worked for many years at the former Dairi-ette drive-in carryout in Augusta.
She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge of Augusta, Community 40 Club, and First Christian Church.
Mrs. Harvey leaves son, James Harris and his wife, Gayle, of Troy, Mich.; stepson, L.R. Harvey of Cheyenne, Wyo.; step-daughters, Nita Mae Mercer of Augusta, and “adopted” daughter Virginia Kellogg, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorials to the First Christian Church and or Lakepoint Nursing Home of Augusta have been suggested.
The Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements.

Lavena E. Grimm

Former Augustan Lavena E. Grimm, 89, died Saturday, March 4, 2000 in Lawrence.
A memorial service is slated for 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 10, at the Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta.
She was born July 29, 1910 in Petersburg, Ind., as the daughter of Frank Bolman and Josephine Veeck Bolman.
On May 20, 1935, she married Ronald E. Grimm. He preceded her in death in 1992.
This homemaker leaves sons, Donald E. Grimm and daughter-in-law Ana Grimm of Wichita; daughter, Pamela S. Colson and son-in-law, Lawrence, of Baldwin City; and one grandchild, Rosamaria Grimm of Wichita.
She will be buried in Dunlap Cemetery near Rose Hill.
Memorials to the American Heart Association are suggested.
The Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements.
Helen Faulconer
Former Augusta resident Helen Hughes Faulconer of Palo Verdes Estates, Calif., died March 14, 2000.
A memorial service was held at the Neighborhood Church March 19.
She was the wife of Forrest-Malcom Faulconer, operations manager at the former Mobil Oil refinery here. She raised three children, worked as a substitute teacher, served as a Boy Scout and Girl Scout leader, taught Sunday School and founded the Butler County Mental Health Association before relocating to California.
Survivors include daughters Joan Faulconer Cobble of Rancho Palo Verdes, Susan Faulconer Cobble of Tulsa, Okla., and son Dr. Forrest Hughes Faulconer of Coloradl Springs, and six grandchildren.

Walsie Berner

Walsie Pearl Berner, 92, Augusta, died Monday, March 6, 2000 at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Her graveside service will be 10 a.m. Monday, March 13, at Elmwood Cemetery. Rev. Tom Davis of First Christian Church will officiate.
This homemaker was born March 23, 1907 in Christan, Mo. the daughter of William Nelson and Sarah Adams Nelson.
On Dec. 4, 1927, she and Homer Wesley Berner were united in marriage at Newkirk, Okla. He preceded her in death in 1958.
Mrs. Berner leaves sons and daughters-in-law, Homer and Shirley Berner of Augusta, F.L. and Mary Berner of Morristown, N.J.; four grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and many great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials to the Augusta First Baptist Church have been suggested.

Mary Nell Miller

Mary Nell Miller, 70, Augusta, died Monday, April 10, 2000.
Her funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, in the Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta-chapel. Burial will be in the Denny Cemetery at Ava, Mo.
Visitation will be possible at the local funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. today, April 11.
Mrs. Miller was a retired secretary for Beech Aircraft.
She leaves son, Jim Conner of Rose Hill, sister, Stella Mae Freeman of Big Pine, Calif.; brothers, Bob Conner of Augusta and William Conner of Alcoa, Tenn.
