Marie H. Cox

Marie Helen Cox. 87, a retired Boeing Wichita secretary and sister of Rosalie Hime of Augusta, died Tuesday, April 25, 2000.
Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 28, in Warsaw, Mo.
Memorials to the Brookside United Methodist Church in Wichita and/or the First United Methodist Church at Warsaw, Mo., have been suggested.

Clay Plymate

Former Augusta resident Clay Stockton Plymate, 69, Perkins, Okla., died Tuesday, April 25, 2000.
His funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 28, at the Strode Funeral Home chapel in Stillwater, Okla.
Mr. Plymate, who left Augusta at age 14, lived and worked in Missouri and Oklahoma most of his life. He and his wife opened a bed and breakfast at Perkins.

Delores Eastridge

Delores Ann Eastridge, 63, Augusta, died Thursday, April 27,'2000.
Her graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday May 2, 2000 at the Elmwood Cemetery here.
This homemaker is survived by her husband, Joe; sons, Michael Eastridge of Benton, Guy Eastridge of Altoona, and Gary Eastridge of Lansing; daughters, Linda Mathes, Debbie Newman, and Jo Bates, all of Augusta, Laurie Clinesmith of Chanute, and Karen Hada; brothers, Kenny Surbrook of Michigan, and Larry Surbrook of Indiana; 20 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorials to Hospice Inc. have been suggested.
The Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements.

Jack Grantham

Jack Grantham, 75, died Sunday, April 30, 2000.
His funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 3, at St. James Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
A rosary will be said at St. James Catholic Church at 7 p.m. tonight.
He was born April 24, 1904 in Kim, Colo., as the son of Daniel and Grace Jordan Grantham.
During World War II, He trained war dogs with the U.S. Marine Corps.
He and Kathryn Maloney were united in marriage in Wichita on June 16, 1948.
He was an entrepreneur in tax and public accounting in the Wichita area for more than 25 years.
He was an ardent and accomplished golfer. His other interests included flying, fishing, and gardening.
Mr. Grantham was very proud of his wife and nine children and often told people he had a “metric ton of kids.”
This retired tool designer/tax accountant leaves his wife, Kathryn; sons, Daniel Grantham of Denver, Colo., Tony Grantham of Boston, Mass., Matt Grantham of Augusta, and Chris Grantham of Wichita; daughters, Frances Dix of Hose-shoe Bay, Texas, Margaret Car-rell of Louisville, Ky., Terry Johnson of Wichita, Marty Magill of Peck, and Judy Miller of Leirlip, Ireland; sister, Minnie Jackson of California, 11 grandchildren, eight step-grand-children, and four great-grandchildren.
Memorials to the St. James Building Fund are suggested.

Amon Fairbanks

Amon Fairbanks, 81, of Augusta died Thursday, April 27, 2000.
His funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 2, in the chapel of Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be possible at the funeral home from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday.
He was born Dec. 7, 1918 in Drig-gs, Ark., as the son of Bethel and Janie Grigsby Fairbanks.
On Sept. 19, 1943, he married Effie Imel in Paris, Ark.
This retired Boeing mechanic leaves his wife, Effie; son, James Fairbanks of Wichita; daughters, Janet Ohl of Augusta, and Jane Schild of El Dorado; sisters, Corene Hooper of Booneville, Ark., Maizie Phillips and Mogie Hawkins, both of Paris, Ark., and Wilma Faye Rice of VanBuren, Ark,; brothers, Maurice Fairbanks and Bill Fairbanks, both of Paris, Ark., seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorials to the Midian Shrine Cripple Children’s Van Fund have been suggested.
The Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements.
