Andrew M. Vancil

Andrew Martin Vancil, Augusta, 89, Augusta, died July 24, 2000.
He was born on May 12, 1911, in-Benton , Illinois, to William Edgar Vancil and Nettie May (Simpson) Vancil.
He was married to Bonnie Belle Ingram on August 19, 1931.
He worked for Mobil Refinery for 45' years before his retirement.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Augusta and was an active member of the Kiwanis Club and the Masonic Lodge.
Funeral service will be Thursday, July 27 at 10 a.m. at the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel in Augusta.
n addition to his wife, Bonnie, he leaves a son, Martin E. and wife Peggy J. of Gilroy, Calif.; a daughter, Barbara J. and husband Floyd H. Bayer of Andover; five grandchildren including John M. Vancil, Gilroy, Calif., Julia A. Vancil, Gilroy, Calif., Amy J. Vancil, Santa Barbara, Calif., Kathy and spouse Chris Martindale, Kansas City, Ks., Kristin Bayer, Kansas City, Mo.; and three greatgrandchildren, Elliot Vancil-Ventura, and Ian and Heather Martindale.
The family requests no flowers. Memorials to the First Baptist Church Building Fund and the Augusta Library have been suggested.
The Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of the arrangements.

Bill E. Adams

Retired City of Augusta employee Bill E. Adams, 66, Augusta, died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2000.
His funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29, at Christ Lutheran Church.
He married Erma Evalou Hendry March 7, 1935 in
Wichita. She preceded him in death on March 31, 1993.
Mr. Adams leaves a son, Jearl Adams of Augusta; a daughter, Lavonne Wright of Caty, Texas; sister, Mary Lou Adams of Mulvane; nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by son Adrian Dwane Adams.
The Hillside Funeral Home Augusta is in charge of arrangements.



Monty L. Ewalt

Boeing Wichita worker Monty Lynn Ewalt, 45, Augusta, died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000.
His funeral service will be will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, at the Dunsford Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
He leaves a daughter, Michelle Hill of Alma, Ark.; mother Virginia Ewalt of Augusta; sister Rhonda Zinn of Augusta, and one grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Ewalt and brothers, Scott and Greg Ewalt.
Memorials to the Monty Ewalt Fund at Bank of America have been suggested.
The Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements.

Orville Hopkins

Orville Wareham Hopkins, 90, Augusta, died Friday, Aug. 4, 2000.
His funeral service will be Tuesday, Aug. 8, at Dunsford Funeral Home, visitation will be held Monday from 4 to 8 p.m at Dunsford Chapel
Hopkins was a retired postmaster from Augusta.
Hopkins is survived by his wife: Wilma of the home, and two sisters: Viola Bagby and Florence Glaze, both of Augusta.
Memorials may be sent to the First Baptist Church of Augusta Building Fund.
The Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements.

Anne Schmidt

Anne Schmidt, 66, Augusta, died August 15, 2000.
Her service will be 1:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 18 at Hope Community Church, Andover. Burial will be in Elmwood SCHMIDT Cemetery.
She worked in the bakery and deli at I.G.A., was a former bowling instructor, and editor of ‘Kansas Sports Vue.’
She is survived by her three sons, Alan and Andy Schmidt, both of Augusta, and Dwight, Annapolis, Md.; seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren
Memorials to Hospice Incorporated have been suggested.
The Dunsford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
