Duard F. West
Duard F. West, 92, Augusta, Kan., died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2000, at the Alterra Sterling House in Augusta.
His funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at First Free Will Baptist in Russellville, Ark., with Rev. Doug Little and Mr. Gene Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park, by Shinn Funeral Service.
The family will receive friends this evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at the
funeral home.
This son of the late James Madison and Ida Medora Nowlin West, he was born June 14, 1908, at Gumlog, Ark., and attended the Moreland School in Moreland, Ark.
He married the former Dee Mildred Bowen on July 17, 1927, in Russellville, and moved to Allen, Okla., in 1935.
In 1975, he moved to Ponca City, Okla., and, following the death of his wife in 1993, moved to Tulsa, Okla., for two years before moving to Augusta in 1996.
He was a member of the Allen Free Will Baptist Church in Allen, Okla., formerly attended the first Assembly of God Church in Andover.
He was a member of the Allen Sportsman Club, loved fishing, hunting, and sports, was an avid naturalist. He loved horses and watching various birds that were attracted to his feeders.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Joe, Ralph, Irvin, and Carl West; and two sisters, Evelyn Lemley and Winifred Johnson.
Mr. West leaves a son, Robert Scott West of Coalgate, Okla.; two daughters, Mary Ellen Thomas of Lake Charles, La. and Beverly Carol Erwin of Augusta, a brother, Covie West of Ardmore, Okla.; two sisters, Jimmie Lou Trusty of Russellville, Ark.; and Patsy Abies of Hot Springs, Ark.; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Active pallbearers will be grandsons Robert E. Thomas, Michael J. Erwin, Scott S. West, Kenneth R. Hunt, Robert E. Brown, III, Frank M. Tilton, Jr., and Kelley Schubert.
Memorials may be made to the Children’s Department Ministry of the Leon Assembly of God Church, 402 North West Street, Leon, Kan. 67074.

His service will be 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 6, at Augusta United Methodist Church, 2420 N. Ohio.
In addition to his wife, K r i s t i n e a Gilbert; he leaves a son Skylur Evan Stephens; father and stepmother, Robert and Teri Stephens of Seattle, Wash.; mother and stepfather, Joan and Lyle Dingman of Augusta; brothers, Gary Stephens of Annapolis, Md., Keith Stephens of of California, sister, Marta Harrell of Arkansas; and his grandmother, Helen Madden of Wichita.
Memorials to the Skylur E. Stephens Trust Fund, do Prairie State Bank, Augusta, have been suggested.
Hillside Funeral Home Augusta is in charge of arrangements.

Retired Boeing hydraulic instructor William Wesley “Bill’ Davis, Augusta, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000.
His service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, at Elmwood Cemetery.
In addition to his wife, Blanche, he leaves two daughters, Sondra Boyd and Karen Dennett, both of Augusta; four grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren.
Memorials to the Trinity Hospice of Wichita and Lincoln East Nursing Center have been suggested.
Lakeview Funeral Home, Wichita, is in charge of arrangements.
Patsy Eytcheson
Patsy Eytcheson, 60, Augusta, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2000.
Her funeral service 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, in the Dunsford Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be possible between 1 and 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4.
Mrs. Eytcheson leaves her husband, Marvin of the home; a son Brian Eytcheson of Overland Park; daughter, Stephanie McGinn and her husband Jeffrey of Sedgwick; sister,Veldeen Moss of Augusta; grandson, Kelly McGinn of Sedgwick, and stepmother, Sarah Vincent of Medicine Lodge.
Memorials to the Kidney Foundation have been suggested.
