Wanda F. Powers
Wanda Fern (Mercer) “Grandma” Powers, 76, Augusta, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000 in Wichita.
Her graveside service was held today, Oct. 2, at the Elmwood Cemetery here.
She was born April 19, 1924 in Augusta as a daughter of Roy Earl Mercer, and Mary (Sells) Mercer Ludlam.
On Oct. 17, 1945, she and Rodney Powers were united in marriage in Augusta. He survives.
This homemaker also leaves a son, Lynn Powers of Wichita; a brother, Earl Mercer of Clyde, Texas; three grandchildren, Brian Powers, Stephanie Hicks, and Jeree Short, all of Wichita, and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, John F. Mercer.
Memorials to the American Cancer Society have been suggested.
The Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta was in charge of arrangements.
Audeen Lichlyter
Homemaker Audeen J. Lichlyter, 89, Burlington, formerly of Augusta, died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000.
Her funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25, at the Dunsford Funeral Home chapel.
Visitation will be possible between 1 and 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24,
also at the Dunsford Chapel.
She is survived by her sons, Jim, Lichlyter of Burlington, and Bob Lichlyter of Central Point, Ore.; two daughters, Lawanda Rockhold of Gorin, Mo. and Theta Harvey of Cheyenne, Wyo.; 16 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials to the Augusta Church of Christ have been suggested.

Faye Carson
Assistant director of senior citizens Frances Faye Carson, 78, Augusta, died Monday, Sept. 18, 2000.
Her graveside funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22, at Elmwood Cemetery.
She is survived by her sons Jerry L. Carson, Michael D. Carson, and Tom Carson, all of Augusta; a daughter, Linda Schmidt of Towanda; sisters, Thelma Gragg, of Wichita, Marie Gilliland of Rose Hill, and Naomi Wheeler of Augusta; 10 grandchildren, and 16 greatgrandchildren.
Mrs. Carson was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Carson, in 1972, a son, Ronald Eugene Carson; two brothers, Jesse Jones and Gerald Jones, and one sister, Winifred Starr.

Orvis W. Baum
Boeing retiree and farmer Orvis Wayne Baum, 92, El Dorado, brother of Vera Ketter-man of Augusta, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000.
His graveside service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, at the Elmwood Cemetery here.
In addition to the sister here, he leaves stepsons, Alvin Brooks of Mountain Home, Ark., and Virgil Brooks of Florida; stepdaughter, Bernice LaRue of Bassett, Ark., and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vena Mae Baum in 1995.
Memorials to the American Heart Association, 2100 E. Douglas, Wichita, KS., 67214 have been suggested.

Freda L. Gaines
Freda L. Gaines, 91, Eureka, mother of former Augustan and former state senator Frank Gaines, died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2000.
Her funeral service was held' Saturday, Sept. 30, at the Greenwood County Cemetery in Eureka.
In addition to Frank of Hamilton, this homemaker also leaves son Richard Gaines of Spearman, Texas; daughter, Beverly Martin of Eureka, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grand-children.
Memorials to the Medicalodge of Eureka and/or the Jefferson Street Baptist Church have been suggested.

Hazel Mae (Stage) Martin-dale, 90, Augusta, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000.
Her funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 16, in the Dunsford Funeral Home chapel.
Visitation will be possible at the local funeral home from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15.
She was a homemaker and Avon representative.
Mrs. Martindale leaves a son, Harry L. Martindale of Palmdale, Calif.; a daughter, Lanette L. Martindale of Wichita; grandsons, Steven Michels of Wichita, Scot Michels of Overland Park, and John Michels of Odessa, Texas, and great-grandchildren Steven, Danny, William, Jay, Robert, and Emily.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard, daughter Lavina Michels, and brother Oral Stage.
