Billy Wayne “Bill” Collins, 64, Augusta, retired Parks Motors of Augusta auto mechanic, died Monday, Dec. 4, 2000
His funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at Elmwood Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by a son, Billy Collins Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; sons, John Collins of Norman, Okla., Troy Collins of St. Paul, Minn., Rob Collins of Augusta; daughter, Terri Lunsway of Topeka; brothers, Lloyd Collins and Charles Collins, both of Russellville, Ark., Don Collins and Duane Collins, both of Hot Springs, Ark.; sisters, Jean Findlay and Pat White, both of Russellville, Ark., Bobbie Tipton of Stockton, Calif.; and six grandchildren.
Hillside Funeral Home Augusta is in charge of arrangements.
Azalee Tipton
Azalee Mitchell Tipton, 76, Augusta, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000.
Her service will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, at the Augusta Church of Christ, 3500 N. Ohio.
She is survived by her son Larry Mitchell and daughter-in-law Linda; her daughter Janice Miller and son-in-law Kent; grandchildren, Nichole and Michelle Miller, Lee and Aubrey Mitchell; brother, R.J. Harris of Bokchito, Okla.; sister Dolores Boone of Branson, Mo., and her companion Bob Kennedy.
Azalee was the retired coowner of Hilltop Appliances and an active homemaker.
She was preceded in death by Harold Mitchell and Marland Tipton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Azalee Tip-ton Memorial Fund that has been set up at Rose Hill Bank of Augusta. All proceeds will be donated to Hospice.
Mary V. Logan
Mary Virginia (Haag) Logan, 76, Augusta, homemaker, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000 Her funeral service will be 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at St. James Catholic Church. There will be a vigil at 7 p.m., tonight, Dec. 6 at St. James Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Johnny Haag.
She was married to Joseph Logan on Dec. 30, 1943 in Ogden, Utah.
She is survived by her' husband, Joseph of Augusta; her three sons, Ron Logan of Emporia, Cy Logan of Olpe, and Joe Logan of Leavenworth, Wash.; her three daughters, Belinda Ball of Ottawa, Lee Anne Thompson of Shawnee, and Ruby Logan of Augusta; her four brothers, Leo Haag of Sitka, Ala., Virgil Haag of Kingston, Wash., Joe Haag of Farming, N.M., and Cy Haag McCook, Neb.; her two sisters, Nellie Shay of Edmond, Wash, and Caroline Duron of Halstead; 23 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorials to the American Cancer Society have been suggested.

Leota Faye (Hammond) French, 86, Augusta, retired Calvert’s Department Store sales clerk, died Monday, Dec. 11, 2000.
Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 14., at Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel. Family visitation will be possible on hour before the service.
She is survived by numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Issac and Nola Hammond and her husband.
Memorials to the Salvation Army have been suggested.
Verna Kessner
Homemaker Verna Catherine (Kappelmann) Kessner, 93, Augusta, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000.
Her funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 11, at Christ Lutheran Church. The family will be available for visitation from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Eugenia and Bob Nordman, Myra Dean and John Clark, all of Augusta, and Phyllis and Loren Roberts of Shell Knob, Mo.; grandchildren, Chris Clark, Lyn Roberts, Dennis Roberts, Scott Clark, Ann Jackson, Shelly Meyer, Danielle Smith, and Troy Nordman; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Memorials to the Christ Lutheran Church have been suggested.

Jimmy D. Kunkel, 51, Amarillo, Texas, formerly of Augusta, father of Jeffrey Lasiter, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000.
His funeral service was Nov. 23 at Boxwell Funeral Home, Amarillo, Texas.
In addition to his son, he is survived by his sister, Vickie Young of Amarillo, Texas, brother, Bobby Kunkel of Amarillo, Texas; mother, Grace Farmer of Apache Junction, Ariz; grandson, Brandon Lassiter of Augusta.
