Orvel Saunders

Orvel W. Saunders, 84, retired Northern Natural Gas oilier of Lyons and brother of Leonard Saunders of Augusta, died Saturday, April 14, 2001.
His service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, at the First Christian Church in Lyons.
Mr. Saunders is survived by his wife, Madge; sons, David of Chase, Douglas of Florissant, Mo.; brothers, Raymond of Wiggins, Miss., Earl of Palmara, Tenn., Leonard of Augusta, John of Hutchinson; sisters, Violet Sullivan, Cora Saunders both of Wichita; two grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with First Christian Church in Lyons.
Sillin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

George Kreidler

George A. Kreidler Sr. 94, retired farmer of Udall and father of Beverly Steiner of Augusta, died Friday, April 20, 2001.
A rosary will be at 7 p.m. today, April 23.
His funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday,april 24, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church.
Mr. Kreidler is survived by wife, Elva; sons, George Jr. of Colwich, Stephen of Sarasota, Fla., Phillip of Gueda Springs, Christopher of Arkansas City, Matthew of Udall; daughters, Beverly Steiner of Augusta, Mary Fleming of Oxford, Cecilia Susan Kreidler of Kansas City, Mo., Margaret Hanley of Moscow, Idaho; 20 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with St. Michael’s Catholic Church Building Fund.

Beulah White

Beulah White, 78, retired seamstress of O’Fallon, ILL., formerly of Augusta, died Wednesday, April 18, 2001.
Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 23, at Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta.
Visitation can be made from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 22, at the funeral home.
Mrs. White is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Gene Carroll of O’Fallon, ILL.; brothers and sister-in-law, Earl and Armetha Boucher of Altoona and Raymond Boucher of Augusta; grandchildren and spouses, Julie Lynn and Sean Hobson of Belleville, ILL., Toni lee and Michelle Carroll of O’Fallon, ILL.; 5 great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society.
Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements.

Thad W. Ferguson

Thad W. Ferguson, 79, of El Dorado, former resident of Augusta, and retired Boeing Wichita and Beech Aircraft Corp. mechanical engineer, died Friday, May 25, 2001.
His services were held at 10 a.m. today, May 29, at the First Christian Church in El Dorado and interment followed at Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
Mr. Ferguson is survived by his wife, Pat; son, Robert; daughter, Susan Dodd both of Wichita; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
A memorial is established with First Christian Church. Kirby-Morris Funeral Home of El Dorado is in charge of arrangements.

Mavis Helstrom

Mavis Joyrene Helstrom, 50, of Wichita and sister of June Inkelaar of Douglass, died Saturday, April 21, 2001.
Her funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, at The Ark Assembly of God Church in Maize.
Ms. Helstrom is survived by brothers, Paul of Sedgwick, Richard of Tulsa; sister, June Inkelaar of Douglass.
A memorial has been established with The Ark Assembly of God Church Building Fund.

L.E. Doughty

Lawrence Edward Doughty, 46, Douglass, Western Resources Inc. environmental chemist, died Thursday, April 19,2001.
A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. today, April 23,
His funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, both at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Derby.
Mr. Doughty is survived by his wife, Vicki; son Jeremy of Wichita; brother, Dale of Mulvane, Gene of Fairview, Mo.

Robert Picard

Robert W. Picard, 65, Augusta, retired Boeing Wichita and Pro Security employee, died Monday, May 21, 2001.
Graveside services for Mr. Picard will be at 12 p.m. Friday, May 25, at Little Walnut River
Cemetery in Leon.
Mr. Picard is survived by his wife, Barbara; step-daughter, Angela Pfeiffer; grandchildren, Colton, Caleb and Haley.
Watson Funeral Home in Wichita is in charge of arrangements.
