Anna Williams Service March 22
Anna Elizabeth Williams, 69, Augusta, died Tuesday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. March 22 at the Douglass Cemetery. Rev. Doyle Mendenhall will officiate.
A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society.
She was born Jan. 29, 1914 near Douglass to Eugene and Nancy Catherine Allen MacKay.
She married Lance Williams Dec. 25, 1933 in Douglass. He
preceded her in death in 1973.
Survivors include a son, David Williams of Southland, Okla.; three daughters, Nancy Bates of Augusta, Dorma Voight of Garden Valley, Calif., and Judith Bosquez of Oilton, Okla.; two brothers, James R. MacKay of Wellington, Eugene MacKay of Dexter; sister, Catherine Metzger of Wichita; 26 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home in Douglass is in charge of arrangements.

Mother Dies In Newton
Stella Laughlin, 90, Manhattan, mother of Maxine Ralston of Augusta, died last night at the Presbyterian Manor in Newton.
Arrangements are pending Cowan-Edwards Funeral in Manhattan for Monday.

Carmen Alfaro Dies At 81
Carmen Huaracha Alfaro, 81, 603 Walnut, died today at the Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
Her service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the St. James Catholic Church. The rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Father David Cushing will officiate. Burial will be at the Elmwood Cemetery.
She was born June 7, 1901 in Degollado, Jalisco in Mexico.
She married Trinidad M. Alfaro Jan. 18, 1918 in Degollado. He preceded her in death in 1973.
She was a member of St. James Catholic Church.
Survivors include sons, Louis Alfaro, Michael Alfaro and Trini Alfaro, all of Augusta, and Henry Alfaro of Bentonville, Ark.; daughters, Mary Alfaro, Edith Resa and Carmen Call, all of Augusta, Margaret Palacioz of Newton, and Sister Angelita ASC, Carlsbad, N.M.; 48 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
A son, Ralph Alfaro, and three grandsons all preceded her in death.

Ex-Augustan Dies At 52
Helen L. Berberick, 52, Rock Island, Ill., died at her home March 18.
Her service will be at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Wheelan Funeral home in Rock Island.
She was born Jan. 15, 1931 in Augusta.
Survivors include her husband, Ray; two daughters, Avis and Angelia, all of Rock Island; two sisters, Catherine Ziebell of Chicago, Ill., and Lorraine Scott of Augusta.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Cora Hoover.

Ex-Augustan Dies At 83
Leroy Shuman, 83, El Dorado, formerly of Augusta, died Sunday at the Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital there.
His service is at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado. Burial will be in the Sunset Lawn Cemetery.
He was born March 27, 1899 near El Dorado to Marion and Katty Bailey Shuman.
He married Avis Hix in Leon in 1924. She survives.
He was a retired barber and a member of the Church of Christ in El Dorado.
Other survivors include son, Marion R. Shuman of Shiner, Texas and Harold Dean Shiner of Lubbock, Texas; a daughter, Velva Lee Dublin of Albuquerque, N.M.; a sister, Fern Ford of El Dorado; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
