Mother Dies
Adah Deer, 90, Fredonia, mother of Geneva Clayton of Augusta, died Sunday at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Fredonia.
Her service was at 2:30 p.m. today at the Timmons Funeral Home in Fredonia. Rev. Car Heien officiated and burial was in the Altoona City Cemetery in Altoona.
A memorial has been established with the First Christian Church in Fredonia.
She was born June 1, 1892 in Cape Girardeau, Mo., to Issac and Jane Washburn Clayton.
Other survivors include a son, Kelso Deer of Hoisington; other daughters, Florenteen Lin-dhardt of Couley Dam, Wash and Dorothy Sell of Wichita; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Ex-Augustan Dies At 86
Dorothy B. Gehrke, 86, Wichita, formerly of Augusta, died Friday at a Wichita nursing home.
Her service was at 2 p.m. today at the Old Mission Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Gus Kubish of Central Baptist Church officiated and burial was in the Old Mission Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Central Baptist Church in rural Augusta.
She was born March 15, 1897 in Nebraska to Henry and Eva Biegert Biester.
She married Herman A. Gehrke. He died in December of 1976.
They farmed in rural Augusta for around 25 years before retiring in 1976 and moving to Wichita.
Survivors include two daughters, Amogene Dolinar of Wichita and Marjorie Preuss, both of Wichita; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Brother Dies
Doyle A. Ruggles, 70, Morland, brother of Donald Ruggles of Augusta, died Sunday at the Hedley Regional Medical Center in Hays.
His service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Morland United Methodist Church. Rev. Rick Cunningham will officiate.
A graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Wilmot (Kan.) cemetery.
He was born April 2, 1912 in Cowley County to Jesse and Ora Kennedy Ruggles.
He married Edith Stout March 25, 1953 in Bentonville, Ark. She survives.
He was a retired oil field pumper for the Texaco Co.
Other survivors include a son, Raymond Ruggles of Wichita; two stepsons, Delbert Stout of Redlands, Calif., and Willis Stout of Great Bend; two daughters, Patricia Shipman of Cheney and Joyce Van Curen of Peabody; a stepdaughter, Mary Heath of Otis; another brother, Kenneth Ruggles of Lake Isabella, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mildred Miller Dies At 63
Mildred J. Miller, 63, Douglass, died yesterday at a Winfield hospital.
Her service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Douglass United Methodist Church. Rev. John Martin will officiate and burial will be in the Douglass Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Douglass Library.
She was born Dec. 6, 1919 in Maize to George and Ellen Stamback Pile.
She married Luther A. Jack” Miller Dec. 12, 1938 in Maize. He survives.
Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home in Douglass is in charge.
