Jean L. Matson

Jean L. Matson, 79, of Augusta, retired Boeing machinist, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5; service at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 6, both at Hillside Funeral Home in Augusta.
Mr. Matson is survived by wife, Virginia; son, Ivan of Tulsa; daughter, Brenda Church of Beaumont, Texas; brothers, Milton of Gilford, Wash., Lonnie of Valley Center; one grandchild.
A memorial has been established with the Leon Senior Center Building Fund, 111 South Main, Box 308, Leon 67074.
Hillside Funeral Home Augusta is in charge of arrangements.

Charlotte Markley

Charlotte V. Markley, 85, of Augusta, retired teacher, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002.
Visitation with family will be from 4 to 6 p.m.
Friday, Feb. 8, at Dunsford Funeral Home. Her service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9, at Central Baptist Church.
Mrs. Markley is survived by sons and daughters-in- law, Gerald and Deon Markley of
El Dorado, Duane and Linda Markley of Augusta; daughter and son-in-law, Janelle and
Kenneth Koftan of Derby; brother, Stanley Corbin of Augusta; sisters, Lois Smith of Wichita, Elizabeth Weir of Detroit; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Memorial established with Central Baptist Church.

Carol M. Wirth

Carol M. Wirth, 75, of Wichita, homemaker and sister of Joyce Little of Augusta, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2001.
A service of remembrance will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 8, at Hillside Funeral Home in Augusta.
Mrs. Wirth is survived by son, Edward Wirth of Wichita; sisters, Lillian Dahl of Clithesall, Minn., Joyce Little of
Augusta,Verna Grider of
Centrose, Calif., Pat Newmiller of Casper, Wyo.; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren.
Memorials have been established with the National Kidney Foundation and the American Diabetes Association. Hillside Funeral Home “East” is in charge of arrangements.

Wilda E. Christopher

Wilda E. Christopher, 90, of Augusta, died Feb. 14, 2002.
Visitation 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., on Sunday, at Dunsford Chapel.
Services at 1:30 p.m., Monday, Feb. 18 at the Church of the Nazarene in Augusta.
Mrs. Christopher was preceded in death by two husbands; Frank Griffith and Walter Christopher; daughter, Beth Perkins; grandson, Curtis Griffith; two great-grandchildren, Ty and Rebecca Lewis.
Survivors include: sons; Curtis Griffith of Augusta and Earl Griffith of Wichita; brothers,Bill Brown of Kingman ,and Ed Brown of Kingman, Ariz., sisters; Ruth Wood of Mountain Home, Ark. and Betty Gleckler of Florida; 18 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials with Lakepoint Nursing Center.

John W. McCarthy

John W. McCarthy, 84, of Augusta, father of Glenn McCarthy and Linda Ridge, both of Augusta, died Saturday, Feb. 16,2002.
Services were held today at 10 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
Mr. McCarthy was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lucille and brother, Albert.
Other survivors include: sons, Johnny of El Dorado, Michael of Brighton, Colo.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta was in charge of arrangements.

Marion Roberts

Marion W. “Hank” Roberts, 81, of Towanda, died Feb. 13, 2002.
Visitation with the family will be today, 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hillside Funeral Home in Augusta. The service will be 11 a.m., tomorrow, Feb. 20, 2002 at Hillside Funeral Home in Augusta.
Survivors include: sons,
Ronnie Roberts of Mt. Laurel, N.J., David Roberts of Georgetown, Texas; daughter, Jackie Beltran of Pamona, Calif.,: stepdaughters, Sandee Ledbetter of Grover Beach, Calif., Lana Jo Evans of Canoga Park, Calif.; sister, Rosetta Pugh of El Cajon, Calif.: 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
