Marvin D. Beene

Marvin D. Beene, 71, Augusta, retired FAA manager and Cessna Aircraft Co. engineer, died Thursday, May 9, 2002.
His funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday, May 13, at Resthaven Mortuary in Wichita
Visitation with the family will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 12.
Mr. Beene was an army veteran, serving as a sergeant Survivors include: wife, Betty of the home; step-sons and spouses, Rodney and Melissa Davidson of Augusta, Brian and Danica Davidson of Wichita; stepdaughter and spouse, Pamela and Robert Olson of Osage City; half-sisters, Pauline Baker and Frances Perkins; five step-grandchildren; one step-greatgrandchild;-numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorials established with the First Christian Church of Augusta and Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice of Wichita.
Resthaven Mortuary of Wichita is handling the arrangements.

Malcom Ray

Malcom Ray, 87, Augusta retired Mobil Oil engineer, died Thursday, May 16, 2002.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m tomorrow, May 18, in Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Elizabeth Ray and daughter, JoAnn Edith McDaniel.
Survivors include: brothers John W. Ray, Jr. of Gulf Breeze. Fla. and James T. Ray of Riverside, R.I.; sister, Jean E. Ray of Hudson, N.H.
Memorial established with Total Home Care Hospice.
Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is handling the arrangements.

‘Granny’ Blake

Esther Blake, 82, Augusta, retired homemaker, died yesterday.
Service will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, at Hillside Funeral Home in Augusta.
She was preceded in death by husband Irwin, her parents, four brothers and three sisters. Survivors include: sons and daughter-in-laws, Donald and Charlotte Blake of Augusta, David and Ruby Blake of Russell; daughters and son-in-law, Judie and Dave Walker, Joyce Sudduth, all of Augusta; sister, Jeanie Wood of Gillette, Wyo.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three step grandchildren; two step greatgrandchildren.
Memorial has been established with American Cancer Society, 400 N. Broadway, Wichita, 67202.
Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta is handling arrangements.

Lesley L. Tharp

Lesley Long Tharp, 51, Wichita, Augusta High School Spanish teacher, died Saturday, May 25, 2002. Visitation with family 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Watson Funeral Home; memorial service at 10 a.m., Wednesday at Calvary United Methodist Church in Wichita.
Survivors include: husband, Michael; mother, Emily Long of Wichita; sisters, Sidney Hite of Lee’s Summit, Mo., Kelsey Long of Kansas City.
Memorial has been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
Watson Funeral Home of Wichita is in charge of arrangements.

‘Inky’ Holder

Charlotte A. “Inky” Holder, 63, Augusta, Wal Mart employee, died Saturday, May 11, 2002.
Memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m tomorrow at the Augusta First Baptist Church, with visitation today from 1 to 8 p.m. at All Faiths Funeral Services, 3717 W. Central, Wichita. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Cheney.
She was preceded in death by husband, Roy Eugene Holder; parents, Charles Wesley and Hazel Marie Knudsen.
Survivors are: sons and daughter-in-law, Robert and Marty Holder of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Wesley H. Holder of Wichita; daughters and son-in-law, Laurie and Roger Hall of Towanda, Sharie Hopkins of Augusta; sisters, Nona Swartzlander of Wichita, Jeannie Patton of Nowata, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Memorial has been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita 67202.

Robert McPherson

Robert C. McPherson, 84, Winfield, formerly of Douglass, retired Cessna Aircraft sheet metal mechanic, died Wednesday, May 15, 2002.
Service will be at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Douglass Church of Christ.
Survivors include: wife, Lucille McPherson; sons, Robert L. and Charles H., both of Rock; daughters, Evelyn High of Douglass and Charlene Crown of Iola; brothers, William Watson of Camdenton, Mo., and A.B. McPherson of Oklahoma City; sister, Mary Meek of Mulvane.
Memorial has been established with the Douglass Church of Christ, P.O. Box 369, Douglass, 67039.
Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta is handling the arrangements.
