Betty L. Lietzke

Betty L. (Wilkinson) Lietzke, 75, Augusta, retired 54 Lunch, Chat-N-Chew, 7th St. Lunch owner and operator and Albert’s Restaurant waitress died Wednesday, May 15, 2002.
Her funeral service will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow, May 18 at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta with Father Sam Pinkerton officiating.
Survivors include: sons and daughter-in-laws, Donald W. Jr. and Jo Lynn Lietzke of Wichita, Stephen and Renee Lietzke of Dickinson, North Dakota; sisters, Edna Boyer and Velma Tornquist, both of Augusta; grandchildren, Matt, Kyle, Ryan, Keith, Trevor, Nick, Nicole, Brooke.
Memorial established with St. James Catholic Church Building Fund, 813 State St., Augusta, 67010.
Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements.

Mary M. Helmer

Mary Melvina (Girton) Helmer, 90, Augusta, former operator of Crossroads Cafe, died Tuesday, May 14, 2002.
Her funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday, May 17, at Christ Lutheran Church in Augusta.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m., today at Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Helmer and son, Daniel Helmer.
Survivors include: sons, Laverne and Jim Helmer, both of Augusta, and Grant Helmer of Derby; daughters, Lora Rollings of Bella Vista, Ark., Virginia Dickey of
Derby, LeeAnn Patterson of Pittsburg, 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.
Memorials to Christ Lutheran Church and Kansas Hospice are suggested.

Rowena Cornelius

Rowena Cornelius, 86, Augusta, homemaker, died Friday, May 17, 2002.
Her service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, at Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta. Visitation will be tomorrow, May 21, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel.
She was born March 15, 1916 to W.H. "Harry" and Mabel Patterson. She was raised and spent most of her life in Augusta and graduated from Augusta High School
She married L.E. "Mutt" Cornelius on May 7, 1938 in Wichita.
She worked at her parents' bakery and then at Mobil Refinery while her husband was serving in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Upon his return, she resumed her life as a homemaker. ______
She was a life long member of the Augusta First United Methodist Church and a member of the Leah Circle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister, Viona Scott of Bartlesville, Okla.
Survivors include: brothers and sisters-in-law, W.H. "Harry" Patterson and wife Julia of Augusta, Charles R. Patterson and wife Shirley of El Dorado; sisters and brother-in-law, Azela M. Dill and husband, Kenneth of Augusta, Aurilla White of Blue Springs, Mo.; numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
Her nieces, nephews, friends and their children affectionately called her "Aunt Sally" and knew she was always there for them. Her home was always open to family and friends whether for a cup of coffee, conversation or staying overnight.
Mrs. Cornelius was the family reporter for those who no longer lived in Augusta. If something affected the family or friends, she would call or write a letter to advise on what was happening at home.
She took the responsibility of maintaining the grave sites of her family, her husband's family and the families of friends that no longer lived here. At one time the total of sites she care for was 19.
Her family feels very blessed in having an "Aunt Sally" and "Uncle Mutt".
Memorials established with First United Methodist Church of Augusta, Children's Department, 2420 Ohio, Augusta, 67010, and Hospice Care of Kansas LLC, 115 W. Central, El Dorado, 67042.
Dunsford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Leon T. Bramhall

Leon T. Bramhall, 69, Longton, formerly of Augusta, retired McConnell Air Force Base employee, died Tuesday, June 11,2002.
His funeral seervice will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 15, at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
Survivors are: wife, Marlene; son, Walter of Houston; daughter, Terri Colling of Augusta; brothers, Gary Hill of Long Island, N.Y., Otis Hill of Longton; sisters, Mabel Taylor, Diane Repass, both of Wichita; two grandchildren.
Memorials have been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital.
Zimmerman Funeral Home in Howard is handling the arrangements.
