Connie Sue Smith
Connie Sue Smith, 57, Kingman, retired nursing instructor, former Augusta resident, died Sunday, May 19, 2002.
Her funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 24, at Livingston’s Funeral Home in Kingman with Pastor John Schmitt officiating. Burial will be in the Coates Cemetery in Coates.
Survivors include: husband, Roger Smith of Kingman: son, Mike Golobay of Farmers Branch, Texas; daughter, Cynthia Madison of Douglass; step-son, Roger Smith Jr., Pratt; step-daughters, Clarissa Becker, Kingfisher, Okla, and Mary Nunn of Pratt; brother, Robert Roby of Manhattan; sister, Pat Fankhouser of Vincennes, Ind.; four grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made with the Alzheimers Association in care of Livingston Funeral Home, P.O. Box 453, Kingman, 67068.

L.E. “Len” Watson, 88, Augusta, retired Chief of Personnel and Director with Veterans Administration
Hospital in Wichita and Civil Service veteran, died Wednesday, May 22, 2002..
His funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 24, at Hillside Funeral Home Chapel in Augusta.
Survivors include: former wife and caregiver, Carolyn Watson of Augusta; son, David Watson, Augusta; daughter, Debra Urban, Augusta; brother, Frank Watson, Augusta; grandchildren, Jaila Urban, Bryce Watson, Bethany Watson, all of Augusta.
Memorial has been established with Trinity Hospice, L.L.C., 1938 N. Woodlawn, Ste. 214,

Hattie Lola (Jennings) Campbell, 85, Valley Center, homemaker, sister of Lenora McDaniel of Augusta, died Wednesday, May 22, 2002.
Her funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 25, at Calvary Baptist Church.
Visitation with family 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, May 24, at Baker Funeral Home in Valley Center;
Other survivors include: son, Danny of Edmonds, Wash.; daughter, Shirley Rundell of Valley Center; brothers, Eugene Jennings of Sage,Ark., Ancil Jennings of Wichita; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Memorial has been established with Calvary Baptist Church.

Lesley Long Tharp, 51, Wichita, Augusta High School Spanish teacher, died Saturday, May 25, 2002. Visitation with family 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Watson Funeral Home; memorial service at 10 a.m., Wednesday at Calvary United Methodist Church in Wichita.
Survivors include: husband, Michael; mother, Emily Long of Wichita; sisters, Sidney Hite of Lee’s Summit, Mo., Kelsey Long of Kansas City.
Memorial has been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.

Gertrude Murphy
Gertrude Maxine (Dewing) Murphy, 83, Augusta, homemaker, died Friday, June 7, 2002.
Her funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, at Dunsford Funeral Home in Augusta.
She was born on Aug. 21,1918 in Augusta.
On Nov. 17, 1934, she married Albert Murphy at Winfield. He preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Everett Wayne Murphy.
Survivors include: sons, Bill of La Mesa, Calif., Monty of Avella, Pa.; daughters, Lola Jean Garst of Wichita, Norma Beasley of Neosho, Mo., Kay Winter of Augusta; sisters, Juanita Burris of Wichita, Doris Breeden of Augusta; 16 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.
She will be missed by all who’s lives she touched, especially by her grandson, Dale Winter who lived with her and cared for her for 12 years.
Memorial has been established with Gideon’s International, 1637 W. May, Wichita, 67213.

Adam Wood
Adam Wood, infant son of Larry and Paula Wood of Augusta, died Friday, May 31, 2002.
A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2002, First Wesleyan Church in Wichita.
Other survivors include: grandparents, Paul and Ann Pankey of Hooker, Okla., Betty Wood of Coffeyville.
Memorial has been established with First Wesleyan Church, 1700 S. Market, Wichita, 67211.
