Karyn N. Criss

Former Augusta resident Karyn N. Criss, 66, Wichita, retired administrator with Berexco Inc. and Beren Corp., died Sunday, July 28, 2002.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 1, at Hillside Funeral Home, East Chapel in Wichita.
Mrs. Criss died peacefully at her home after fighting a courageous battle against cancer for more than four years.
She graduated from El Dorado High School in 1954 and also attended the University of Kansas and Wichita State University.
She lived in Augusta for over 20 years before moving to Wichita.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Zelda (Johnson) Parker and her father, Neil Kreeck.
Survivors include: sons and daughter-in-law, Robert and Lisa Criss of Bolingbrook, ILL., Michael Criss of Huntsville, Ala.; daughters and son-in-law, Susan and Robert Criss-Carboy of Ester, Alaska, Sandy Cooper of Wichita; sister, Kay Carter of Kansas City, Kans.; grandchildren, Chelle Cooper, Candace Cooper, Aubrie Criss, Ryan Criss, Aaron Criss, Nathan Criss, Kara Criss, Megan Carlson, Danielle Carlson, Katelynn Criss-Carboy, Lauren Criss-Carboy.
Memorials have been established with Victory in the Valley and Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
Hillside Funeral Home East of Wichita is handling the arrangements. ______

Paul F. Mitsch IV

Student Paul Francis Mitsch IV, 21, Wichita, died Friday, July 26, 2002.
His funeral service was at 10:30 a.m. this morning, July 29, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Wichita.
Survivors include: father and stepmother, Dr. Paul and Suzanne Mitsch III of Wichita; mother Dr. Diana Quillin of Wichita; brothers, Stephen Mitsch of Kansas City, Mo., Peter Mitsch of Wichita; sisters, Mary Mitsch, Elizabeth Mitsch both of Wichita; grandmother, Beverly Mitsch of San Jose, Calif.; numerous extended family and friends.
Memorial established with Guadalupe Clinic, 940 S. St. Francis, Wichita, 67211.
Downing & Lahey Mortuary East of Wichita is in charge of arrangements.

James R. Tate

James Richard Tate, 62, Cherokee, N.C., formerly of Augusta, High Priest of the Eastern Branch of the RedNation of the Cherokee People and Master Craftsman in construction industry, died July 26, 2002.
Funeral service will be at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6, at the Andover Cemetery in Andover.
Survivors include: wife, Sharol of the home; children, Jalina, Jessica, Jueno, Joshua, Keith David; brother, Randy Tate of Augusta; sister, Linda Boswell of Andover; nine grandchildren.
Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements.

Carline Pickard

Carline E. Pickard, 78, Augusta, retired Ben Franklin Store and Idea Shop co-owner, died Friday, Aug. 2, 2002.
Her funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 7, at Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation from 1 to 8 p.m. tomorrow with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Dunsford Funeral Home.
She was born April 20, 1924 in Hope, Ark., to Audrey Parcell Hatch and Elwood Hatch.
She married W. W. “Pick” Pickard on May 27, 1943 in a ceremony in Hope, Ark.
She was preceded in death by her husband, brother, L.C. Hatch and her parents.
Survivors include: son, Steve; daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Bill Kincaid, Sandy and Len Hudson, Stacy and Gerry Lipscomb, all of Augusta; sisters, Billie Evans of Madison, Ind., Gale Adams, Jan Kidd both of Hope, Ark.; sister-in-law, Elva Messer of Texarkana, Texas; granddaughters, Crysta Baier of Overland Park, Heather Journell of Daytona Beach, Fla., Holly Kincaid, Jamie Simpson, Amy and Ashley Pickard all of Wichita; grandsons, Josh and Kyle Lipscomb of Augusta; great-grandson, Joel Baier.
