Lourine M. Bruening

Lourine M. Bruening, 84, Topeka, homemaker, former Augusta resident, died Thursday,, Aug. 1, 2002.
Her funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug.5 at Faith Lutheran Church, 17 & Gage Blvd. in Topeka.
Visitation with family will be from 7 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 4 at Penwell-Gabel MidTown Chapel in Topeka. Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Topeka.
Survivors are: husband, Rev. George Bruening of the home; daughter, Delores Bruening McKinney and husband, Richard McKinney of Wentzville, Mo..
Memorials have been established with Lutheran Social Services, 1855 N. Hillside, Wichita, 67214; Topeka Lutheran School, 701 SW Roosevelt, Topeka, 66606; Faith Lutheran Church, 1617 SW Gage Blvd., Topeka, 66604.
Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel of Topeka is in charge of arrangements.

Jack Guest

Jack Guest, Hastings, Minn., formerly of Augusta, died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2002.
His funeral arrangements were pending this morning.
He was preceded in death by par-
ents, Harold T. and Mattie Guest, sisters, Jane Fennell and Jean Porter, brother, Ed Guest.
Survivors include: wife, Mary Ann; son, Andy Guest of Riverside, Calif.; daughters, Cindy Aarnes and Kelly Parker, both of Hastings; brother, Bill Guest of Wichita; four grandsons; several nieces and nephews.

Laverne Dean Wedel

Laverne Dean Wedel, 66, Augusta, retired Boeing Wichita electronics inspector, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2002.
Private family services were held.
Other survivors include: sons, Steve of Wichita, Christopher of Augusta; daughter, Anita Wylie of Towanda; brothers, Floyd Wedel, Jack Wedel, both of Augusta; three grandchildren.
Watson Funeral Home in Wichita handled arrangements.

Altha Marie Northern

Altha Marie Northern, 91, Augusta, retired owner and operator of Altha’s Beauty Shop for over 40 years, died Wednesday, July 31, 2002.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 5 at Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel in Augusta. Visitation with family will be from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday at Dunsford Funeral Home
Survivors include: son, Howard D. VanBibber of Wichita; daughters, Lois Colleen Adkins of Lynnwood, Wa., Eva Jane Flowers of Augusta; sister, Marge Johnson of Nicoma Park, Ok.; 14 grandchildren; 25 greatgrandchildren; numerous greatgrandchildren.
Memorial established with the Augusta Regional Medical Center’s Long Term Care.
Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is handling the arrangements.

Caron Kofoid-Gant

Caron (Carney) Kofoid-Gant, 54, Augusta, retired computer technical writer at Pulse Systems, died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2002.
Her graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 12, at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. at Dunsford Funeral Home on Sunday, Aug. 11.
Survivors include: son, Shannon Kofoid of Augusta; uncle Davon “Bonnie” Byrd of Augusta.
Dunsford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Berneta A. Lichlyter

Berneta Alberta (Clark) Lichlyter, 98, Augusta, homemaker, died Friday, Aug: 9, 2002.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 14, at Hillside Funeral Home in Augusta.
Survivors include: daughters and son-in-law, Wilma and Lawrence Smith of Wichita, Loleta Knipp of Augusta; grandchildren and spouses, Monica Lee Finnegan of Australia, Nedra Sue Kelly of Lampass, Texas, Linda Kay and Jerry Rogers of S.C., Matthew Mark McMullen of Wichita, Jerry and Brenda Eagleson, Tom and Carolyn Eagleson all of Augusta, Marsha Ann and Kenney Gray of Conway Springs, Betty Jo Ann and Jim Fiore of Mission Viejo, Calif.; stepgrandson, Edwin Knipp of Wichita; 19 greatgrandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; one stepgreat-great-grandchild; sister-in-law, Minnie Clark of Augusta; one niece; four nephews; many friends.
Memorial has been established with American Cancer Society, 400 N. Broadway, Wichita, 67202.
