Carl J. Lehr

Carl J. Lehr, retired manager of Lehr’s Restaurant and coowner of Lehr’s Traditions, died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2002.
His funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 9, at Hillside Funeral Home in Augusta.
Mr. Lehr was born June 30, 1924 in rural Augusta to the late Charles John and Mary E. (Johnson) Lehr.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
Survivors include: wife, Elsie; son and daughter-in-law, C. Jon and Tammy Lehr of Wichita; daughters and son-in-law, Carla and Thom Alcazar of Wichita, Carmen Lehr of Augusta; grandchildren, Jason Hagebusch, Megan Dress, Andrew Lehr; step-grandchild, Jessica Haffner’ Memorials established with Augusta Historical Theatre in c/o Augusta Arts Council and Victory in the Valley, both in c/o Prairie State Bank, 512 State Street, Augusta.

Wendell Marsh

Wendell Clyde Marsh, 88, Augusta, retired Cessna Aircraft Co., Beech Aircraft Co. and Boeing Wichita sheet metal employee, died Thursday, Aug. 22, 2002.
His funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 27, at Resthaven Mortuary in Wichita.
Survivors include: wife, May of the home; brother, Max M. Marsh of Springfield, Mo.
He was a member of Good Samaritan Club and Haverhill Christian Church since 1958.
Memorials have been established with American Heart Association and Haverhill Christian Church.
Resthaven Mortuary of Wichita is in charge of arrangements.

Ruth E. Skaggs

Ruth E. Skaggs, 84, Wichita, homemaker, died Saturday, Aug. 10, 2002.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 14 at Prairie Hills Southern Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. tomorrow, Aug. 13, at Hillside Funeral Home in Augusta.
Survivors include: sons, Richard Smith, David Skaggs of Augusta; daughters, Barbara Guimond of Ontario, Calif., Ruth Hurtado of Hazelton, Bonnie Donham of Augusta, Patricia Pompa, Allyn Kay McDowell both of Wichita; 21 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; seven great-greatgrandchildren.
Memorial established with Weiderman Foundation, c/o Hillside Funeral Home, 117 W. 6th, Augusta.

Marie Alene Singer

Marie Alene Singer, 93, Coffeyville, formerly of Augusta, died Sunday, Aug. 11 2002.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 16 at Ford-Wulf-Bums Edgewood Chapel in Coffeyville. Graveside serv-ice will follow at 2 p.m., Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
She was preceded in death by husband, Clifford L. Singer, brother, Roger and sister Helen Counsil.
Survivors include: sons, Larry Singer and Barbara of Lee’s Summit, Mo., Lynn Singer and Judy of Coffeyville; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two nieces.
Memorial has been established with the First Christian Church of Coffeyville.
Ford-Wulf-Burns Funeral Home of Coffeyville is handling arrangements.

Romane D. Zlomke

Romane Dale Zlomke, 81, Augusta, retired Western Electric supervisor and Army Air Corps WWII veteran, died Friday, Aug. 9, 2002.
Funeral service was at 2 p.m. today, Aug. 12, at Hillside Funeral Home in Augusta.
Survivors include: wife, Ruth; son, Steven of Augusta Township; daughter, Claudia Beadle of Henderson, Nev.; sister, Betty Ewing of Kansas City, Mo.; two grandchildren.
Memorial has been established with the Church of Christ Building Fund, 3500 Ohio, Augusta. Hillside Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

James F. Elliott

James “Jim” F. Elliott, 81, Augusta, retired Mobil Oil Refinery maintenance employee , died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2002.
His funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 16, at Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel
Visitation will be possible from 4 to 8 p.m., family present from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
on Thursday.
Mr. Elliott served the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include: wife, June Elliott of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Phyllis Elliott of Kilgore, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Rosemary and Dale Reynolds of Douglass; two grandchildren; one great-grandson.
Memorial established with Arthritis Foundation, Kansas Chapter, 1602 E. Waterman, Wichita, 67211-1878.
Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements.
