Alvin G. Perkins

Alvin G. Perkins, 75, Augusta, retired Beech Aircraft quality inspector, died Sept. 3, 2002.
His service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6, in the Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel.
Survivors include: Jay Lewis of Augusta, Steve Perkins, Richard Lewis, both of Arkansas City; daughters, Arietta Wilson of Augusta, Roxann Perkins of Fall River, Beverly Douglas of Lake City, Fla., Cindy Stillwell of Idaho, Debbie Rogers of New Mexico, Idena R. Bird of Wichita; brothers, S.H. Perkins of Augusta, S.C. Perkins of Lenora; sisters, Bonnie Teter of Billings, Mont.; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: wife, Beth; parents; sister; two grandchildren.
Memorial established with Harry Hynes Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, 67202.
Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is handling the arrangements.

Helen L. Stevens

Helen L. (Haaga) Stevens, 75 Augusta, homemaker and retired secretary, died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2002.
Service was held today at Elmwood Cemetery.
Survivors include: husband, Ray; son and daughter-in-law, Rex and Deambra Stevens of Arkansas City; brothers, William Haaga of Douglass, Robert Haaga of El Dorado; two grandchildren.
Memorial has been established with Augusta Senior Center.

Grover Cockerhen

Grover Shane Cockerhen, 26, Andover, died Friday, Aug. 23, 2002.
His service will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow, Aug. 30, at the Andover Cemetery.
Survivors: mother, Gonzella of Andover; brother, Pierre Johnson of Wichita; sisters, Precious Sian Cockerhen of Andover, Primitiva Johnson of Wichita.
Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements.

Ella I. Epp

Ella I. Epp, 95, Augusta, died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002 at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
Her graveside services will be 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31, at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta. Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado.
She was born June 13, 1907 at Highland, Kansas, the daughter of George Waite and Lola Marie (Schofield) Brown. She was a graduate of Kansas University with a degree in education. She taught school in the first and second grades in Augusta for 35 years. She also made her home in Augusta for many years. She had spent the last eight months in El Dorado to be near her daughter.
Ella was a member of the First United Methodist Church in
Augusta; various sororities and organizations; a 50 years member of the Augusta Order of the Eastern Star; a former member of B.P.W.; and a member of other social organizations.
She married Frederic Oliver Epp on June 30, 1940 in Wichita. He preceded her in death in March of 1978. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother and sister.
Survivors include: daughter and husband, Jean and Leon Smitherman of El Dorado; grandson, Leon Smitherman III of Raleigh, N.C.; one great-grandson, James Packer Smitherman.
Memorials in her memory established with the First United Methodist Church in Augusta, may be left or sent to Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado, which has charge of the arrangements.

Alice Hollingsworth

Alice Leora Hollingsworth, 90, Wichita, homemaker, sister of Walter Cody and Hazel Mauk, both of Augusta, died yesterday.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 on Saturday, Aug. 31, at Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel in Augusta. Visitation will also be at Dunsford Chapel from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
Other survivors include: daughter, Peggy Ann VanBuren of Wichita; son, Donny Joe Hollingsworth of Wichita; brother, Frank Cody of El Dorado; one granddaughter.
Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is handling the arrangements.
